On 13 June 2023, three people were killed and three others injured in three attacks in Nottingham, United Kingdom.[1][2] They were carried out during the early hours of the morning in the city in the East Midlands of England.[1][3]

Attacks

At 4am on 13 June 2023, two 19-year-olds were found stabbed to death in Ilkeston Road, to the west of Nottingham city centre, Nottinghamshire.[1][4] Just after 4 a.m., police were called to the scene of a van-ramming attack in which three people were injured. A man was found stabbed to death at a third location in the city. Later the same day, police arrested a 31-year-old West African migrant.[1] [5] Police were said to be working closely with counter-terrorism police but keeping an "open mind" as to the motive.[2][6][7]

Victims

The first two people killed in the attacks were students of the University of Nottingham.[8][9][7] The third victim was a man in his 50s who was the owner of the van, which had been stolen from him. All the injured victims were wounded after the vehicle was rammed at a bus stop; one was recovered in critical conditions.[4]
