Defseca.com is not a reliable source

Information icon Hello, I'm Worldbruce. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of equipment of the Bangladesh Army, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:19, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at List of equipment of the Bangladesh Army, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Facebook is not a reliable source. Pindad.com is a reliable source, but neither Facebook nor Pindad.com says the Bangladesh Army has purchased any weapons from Pindad, only that Pindad has offered to sell them, a Bangladeshi military delegation has visited Pindad, and has test fired their SPR-2 sniper rifle there. --Worldbruce (talk) 13:07, 26 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, Can't you see that from Facebook and defseca.com, it's some evidence that the Bangladesh army bought defense equipment from Indonesia including SS2 rifles. And my question is: how can you prove that defseca.com isn't a reliable source? Thank you. LSKIYAPSD (talk) 00:50, 27 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If an editor isn't watching a talk page (I'm not watching yours), they won't know you've posted there unless you use some kind of notification template, see Help:Talk pages.
Almost all websites, except for those published by traditional publishers (such as news media organizations), are self-published and therefore largely not acceptable. They have no impartial editorial review to evaluate the accuracy of information, and are published by businesses or organizations that want you to believe their point of view. The burden is on the editor citing a source to prove that it is a reliable source for the content in question. Defseca.com has been discussed at the reliable sources noticeboard and was found unreliable here and here (under its previous name of bdmilitary.com).
There are only a handful of reliable secondary sources about the equipment of the Bangladesh Army as a whole. The Military Balance (published by the International Institute for Strategic Studies), the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Jane's Weapons, and World Air Forces. Stick to them as much as possible. --Worldbruce (talk) 00:34, 26 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are Vandalising the Assault rifle list. Do not add things that were unrelated to assault rifles example:You added a semi automatic rifle to the assault rifle list. You falsely removed the links that were assault rifles. 2406:3003:2002:EFB:441C:912A:1D0A:2F9 (talk) 08:14, 11 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Always cite reliable sources

Warning icon You recently added content to an article, List of equipment of the Bangladesh Army, but you didn't provide a reliable source. See the WP:RSN archives to understand why military-today.com is not a reliable source. Editors there commented: "precisely the type of source we shouldn't be using", "no real justification for using self published internet sites as sources", "it is not possible for a reasonable editor to mistake this source as reliable", and so forth. Facebook is considered generally unreliable because it is a self-published source with no editorial oversight, see WP:RS/PS. Consequently, your addition has been removed. If you can cite a reliable source as explained on your talk page earlier this year, you're welcome to re-add the content. --Worldbruce (talk) 13:55, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

October 2023

Information icon Hello, I'm Nagol0929. I noticed that you recently removed content from List of equipment of the Royal Cambodian Army without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. you have no need to know why i removing some contents from that page. In fact, those contents are not necessary at all LSKIYAPSD (talk) 01:08, 14 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop. If you continue to add unsourced or poorly sourced content, as you did at Special Forces Command (Cambodia), you may be blocked from editing. You have been repeatedly warned about this, so should know that you need to add references to reliable sources when you add material like this to articles. The sources you added to the Special Forces Command (Cambodia) were all either low quality or did not support the claims. As you have been warned repeatedly for this, I'm blocking your account. Please take the time to read WP:RS and WP:V. Nick-D (talk) 07:54, 23 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
