It's stuff like this: "In essence, he had a breakdown.[26] The rest of us were so hurt and insulted by what Danny had done we didn't know what to do. I was loath to fire him because he played so well ... [Firing him] would mean pulling out of two weeks of gigs and cancelling the tour[8][72]... [but] there was no other option. Danny had to go."[15][73] You've got five sources for that quote which suggests to me that it's not one quote (as it is presented) but a combination of several. You can't really do that, as although they're all his words, you're synthesising it to make it look like he said all this at the same time. Another issue is that there are chunks of text there, especially in the Welch section, that don't have anything to do with Danny. They'd be better suited in Welch's article or the main Fleetwood Mac one. It was an important statement, an acknowledgement of what was obvious but someone needed to say, and I felt it needed to be there in that position. The rest of the paragraph quoted Fleetwood from his two autobiographies. The second cite of each pair is a page number. The sentence is not intended to be taken as one continuous quote: the dots ( ... ) indicate gaps or discontinuity. Welch section: I included this material as scene-setting and background to fill out the picture. This was the environment Kirwan was working, touring and performing in, and in effect Welch is describing it for us on Kirwan's behalf. But I bow to your judgement if you feel it should be somewhere else. 194.81.226.131 (talk) 15:32, 16 February 2019 (UTC) Dots or ellipses in a sentence indicate that a word or a few words have been removed from a longer piece of text. They are not meant to join parts of sentences taken from different sources. So that does read like it was effectively one quote, although you didn't mean it that way. I have no issue with any of the content of that piece, by the way. I get your intention with the Welch stuff but I feel there's a bit too much there that doesn't directly concern Kirwan. At least that is how a reviewer of the article would see it. We can have a closer look at it when you feel you've done everything you want to do. The edit you refer to consisted of the addition of the word 'English' to the locality 'Lake District', on the assumption that not everyone who reads this article will know which country the Lake District is in. This was a good faith edit which was intended to be helpful and constructive. In the process of adding it, the '3' appears to have dropped off the end of the date. I see you also found it necessary to revert the edit which someone else had also objected to, in which the grammatically correct construction "In 1967 McVie, then performing under the name Christine Perfect, heard that..." was reverted to the original and rather clumsy "In 1967, then performing under the name Christine Perfect, McVie heard that ..." The first is better because the construction is "In 1967 McVie [ ] heard that..." with a subordinate clause inserted which refers to the subject 'McVie'. Saying it the other way round is not the better option. The main point of the sentence is to state "McVie heard that..." "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Blocking of IP address

A 12-month block beginning 28 November 2023 has been placed on all IP 194.81. addresses operated by Oxfordshire County Council because of misuse of Wikipedia in schools and colleges. (See message from Materialscientist dated 28 November.) This blanket ban has unfortunately had the effect of also blocking access to Wikipedia in the county's public libraries, where much conscientious editing has been carried out on IP 194.81.226.132 since 2018 (see history).
