A ton of similar accounts doing the same thing, in typical LTA style. I'm pretty sure there's an LTA case out there with Japanese characters for a name--if so, and if you recognize this one, please merge as appropriate. Drmies (talk) 02:41, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Some of these names are Japanese, some are Chinese (at least that's what Google Translate tells me). I did a little poking around and nothing jumped out at me, but that doesn't mean much. I only see one LTA named in either Japanese or Chinese: Wikipedia:Long-term abuse/明溪. The whole list is here. There's a bunch of J/C SPI cases but I'll leave it to somebody more familiar with the case histories to see if any of those seem like a match. -- RoySmith (talk) 14:02, 16 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
  • I did some digging on jawiki and based on the usernames I'd guess that these are ja:LTA:ASPE (or someone impersonating them). I don't think there is an existing SPI case for them on enwiki, and the jawiki master is not registered here, so perhaps we can just leave the case here for now. Strange but likely username, all creating their user talk pages in a short time with Japanese. Diff1,Diff2,Diff3, Diff4. I'd call WP:DUCK on all of these. The page creations are about the same topic (protesting against a public project in Hiroshima). I will need human review of the edits by 熈滑ローズコム and 熈滑 極, since the former could not be deciphered by Google Translate, and the latter was likely translated incorrectly but is probably a legal threat. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 01:34, 5 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have in the past blocked dozens of this person's accounts, maybe hundreds, without having any idea what their purpose in creating user talk pages and then immediately deleting them is. In light of things which seeing this page has prompted me to look at, it seems possible that they are acting in the mistaken belief that having what they write kept in page histories will serve SEO purposes, or something similar. That suggests that deleting the blanked pages, which until now I have not done, just may deter them. Actually I doubt it, because the way they almost always just make 2 edits with an account and then never use that account again, suggests that very probably they never even look back at the account, and so will never know the pages have been deleted, but maybe it's worth a try.   • So that's who this is! See User talk:Bbb23#Another one. Blocked, tagged, global lock requested. A clerk might wish to take the accounts I've blocked (see Category:Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of ਗੈਪ ਹੈ), request global locks, and retag. I've been deleting the socks' Talk pages per G5, even though by the time I see them they're empty, to remove the very weird history (I have no idea what's going on here, btw), but I'm not sure if I should be doing that.   • All accounts are blocked, so there's nothing more to do apart from closing the case. If it's of any interest to anyone, since March 2022 I have blocked hundreds more of this editor's sockpuppets, in addition to those dealt with in these SPIs. I haven't bothered to file SPIs, because they are so blindingly obvious. If anyone thinks I should request CU so that any sleepers can be found, let me know, and I'll consider it, but to me it looks unlikely that there's much point in doing so, since when I see a new sockpuppet, any others which have recently been created are so easily identified by their user names among newly created accounts. It seems to me that CUs' time can be more usefully spent on checking other cases where things are not so obvious. JBW (talk) 17:07, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
