introductory blurb

The introductory blurb is a little over-the-top. It sounds like a PR piece for Yamashita. It is a little strange to cite a Japanese online music store as the reference for him being "one of the greatest singers of all time". For instance, Ryuichi Sakamoto is probably much more well-known in the US and Europe than Yamashita. And is "Christmas Eve" the standard Japanese Christmas song? Granted it is one of the songs that they play in Japan at Christmas time. But what about all the other Japanese Christmas songs by singers like Yumi Matsutoya? How can you say which one is the standard song?

All this goes to show that it would be better to re-write this article in a more neutral tone. Right now it reads like a bio in some promo material. --Westwind273 (talk) 04:43, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Perfectionism

A funny anecdote from 'Nikkei Entertainment, the August 1997 issue.':

"There are many maniacal fans, like those of the well-known Tatsuo Yamashita, who once (in 1988) unilaterally postponed a concert on the very day it was to be performed, saying "My vocal pitch is off." Far from criticizing this, his fans have been passing it around as a praiseworthy anecdote.
I don't think I am the only one who can see the connection between this and the Eva fans. "

Add new album

Tatsuro announced his new album, "Softly" back at April 1, 2022 - So I decided to add it to the "Studio Albums" section of the article. If it's inappopriate to put future releases in the "Studio Albums" section, please remove that part. Weareblahs (talk) 08:50, 4 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
