He is a world wide recognized dancer in the Latin Dance World. Everyone who dance Salsa recognize him. He is the founding father of Salsa on 1.

A couple of claims need citations (I've added tags to them). Torres is widely referred to on salsa websites and 'review' type sites e.g. http://www.centralhome.com/ballroomcountry/mambo.htm & http://www.salsanewyork.com/magazine/instructors/eddie_torres.htm (and the list of articles referred to at the end of that piece). Not sure there are any 'definitive' sources to select, and some of them are more commercially oriented than others. They're still news and history sites within the genre - and certainly Torres is notable in the history of salsa - but wonder how best to source here? Sjgknight (talk) 06:44, 22 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
