Vagrant to Pakistan?
The article says that the black throated loon is a vagrant to Pakistan. While it would certainly be a vagrant if one were found in Pakistan, there needs to be a source validating this baseless claim. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.20.213.54 (talk) 03:21, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
- Rasmussen and Anderton (2005) The Ripley Guide - notes a record from Ambala in Indian Punjab. The article certainly needs to be improved. Shyamal (talk) 07:15, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Name?
Wouldn't it be better to move this article to Arctic Loon? I think that is what it is more widespreadly called.Aythya affinis (talk) 17:51, 4 December 2021 (UTC)
- No, the name should either be Black-throated diver or Arctic Loon. However, the IOC use Black-throated loon and for bird names Wikipedia follows the IOC. As this species is predominantly Eurasian and marginally North American, Arctic Loon should not be used.Quetzal1964 (talk) 21:31, 20 February 2022 (UTC)
