Notable matters 1
[edit]The following needs independent sourcing, not a press release, to show it was notable
- Republic Services
Akerman represented Republic Services in connection with the merger with Allied Waste. The Akerman team negotiated the merger agreement, performed extensive due diligence, handled the deal's securities registration, debt financing, employee benefits and executive compensation, tax issues and environmental / regulatory matters, and closed the deal on behalf of Republic. The merger created a company with an enterprise value of approximately $16 billion.[1]

Notable matters 2
[edit]The following needs better independent sourcing, not a press release, to show it was notable. I was hopeful about the Miami Business Herald News source but it doesn't even mention Akerman.
- Carrols Restaurant Group
Akerman represented Carrols Restaurant Group in connection with the acquisition of Burger King franchises, making it the largest Burger King franchisee in the world.[1] Akerman also assisted Carrols with the spin off into a separate publicly traded company of its wholly owned subsidiary, Fiesta Restaurant Group, Inc., which owns and operates the Pollo Tropical and Taco Cabana restaurant brands.[2][3]

Notable matters 3
[edit]- Swire Properties
Akerman represented Swire Properties in the development of Brickell City Centre which was the largest private-sector project under construction in Miami in 2012. It was a $1.05 billion mixed-use development located in the center of the Brickell financial district, spanning 9.1 acres.[1]

- I toned this down a bit and edited it per WP:RELTIME. It is not clear what Akerman did that was noteworthy in this matter. Every big development has attorneys that work on it... Jytdog (talk) 01:12, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

Unsourced merger and location content
[edit]The following was unsourced. Moved here til it can be reliably sourced. the one source is here is WP:SPS and not reliable.
A permanent presence in Tallahassee was established in January 1991 with the merger of Moffitt, Hart & Herron. This merger also gained the firm, then known as Akerman, Senterfitt, & Eidson P.A., its Tampa office. An office in West Palm Beach opened in 1995.[1] Shortly after 2000, Akerman opened offices in Washington, D.C. and New York, followed by openings in Las Vegas, Denver, and Dallas. It also now has offices in Los Angeles, Salt Lake City, Tysons Corner, Virginia, and Chicago.

citation messed up
[edit]I am moving this here til the source can be corrected. Articles with similar titles were published in 2014 and 2015; the title doesn't match the date, and I don't know which source was meant.
Akerman advanced its ranking among the nation's leading law firms for diversity for a second consecutive year on The American Lawyer's annual "Diversity Scorecard". The firm is ranked No. 6 in the United States for Hispanic lawyers, as well as No. 23 for female partners.[1]
