Change Location of Direction
[edit]What I mean by that is, this page is mainly directing to those in the UK. It's not necassary, it would still have the same information, but instead of directing the page to the UK, it needs to be directed to everyone. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.98.47.141 (talk) 22:28, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
- Actually, no, as per Wikipedia policies and guidelines, articles about television shows must primarily focus on the original version. For Meerkat Manor, as the show is a UK show, all articles related to it will be focused on the UK version, with notes related to other versions as needed when there are differences. Correction
[edit]On the episode where rocket dog intitiates a borrow move, it is lyric(not mcmurphy) who tries to pick one of Maybellines pup. His name is either lyric or lerry. Unknown who is his/her real name. Roving male 074 (talk) 02:02, 9 January 2008 (UTC)
Section move
[edit]I'd like to propose we move the DVD information to below the episode listing. For one, a part from the LOE pages, it's generally standard practice among TV and Film articles to put DVD info last. This is a List of Episodes page, and not a List of DVDs page, so the first thing a reader should see should be the episodes. It's also a bit misleading to have it under "Series overview" (or something similar), because it isn't an overview or a summary. It's just a table for the DVD releases. I recently adjusted List of Smallville episodes to reflect that, moving the DVD info below the episodes under the new header of "Home video release", which is more appropriate given what it actually is. This isn't a major change, but I'd rather come to the talk pages of all the relevant LOE pages first.
P.S. I removed the image from the lead, as these have never passed WP:FUC. I'm not sure if it was there when the FLC took place or not, but someone should have mentioned that it was decided a long time ago that images for LOE pages don't meet the fair-use criteria. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 12:12, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree. The overview gives the series summaries (airdates and episodes per series) with the two major DVD releases. It is a standard practice in multi-season/series television programs. The article then has a fuller DVD section below. I also strongly disagree with the removal of the image, as it was not "decided a long time ago" as many lists have passed with a DVD cover image within the last two months with the same image. This is exactly the proper image and format as noted in WP:MOSTV. Please point to a specific guideline or policy that expressly forbids a DVD cover as a representative image in a list of episodes. I'm particularly confused when I see you yourself just added individual images to ever season page of South Park?? That seems very conflicting to me.-- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 13:52, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- MOSTV is refering to the season lists, not general "LOE" pages, because their images represent exactly what they are talking about. How does an image of the series 1 DVD represent the whole topic? It doesn't, it represents that one series. As for the first thing. It isn't a "summary". There is no summary. Listing premiere and finale isn't a summary of the episodes. It's useless. There is no reason to have two sections for DVD information, when one will suffice. The policy is WP:FUC, the part about "significant understanding". You know the only reason film articles and season articles get to slide on that one criteria is because those particular images represent the article as a whole. A picture of season 3 of The Simpsons on their LOE page would not represent them "as a whole". Now, if you found some type of boxset image, that encompassed the whole series that's a different story. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 15:14, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'd still like to see where this was decided, as I noted, LOEs have passed FL very recently with these images, nor have I ever personally seen it questioned before. There is a box set of the series that I can get an image of, but would rather be sure it was necessary first. Also, as noted at Degrassi, I think the table thing should be brought up in a more central place than just on individual list of pages as it is a defacto style followed by many.-- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 15:27, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

- More than 2 years ago, when every singly FL and LOE had an image, and the FUC Nazis cracked down on every fiction related page. We had to fight just to make sure they didn't try and delete the film posters. Of the 13 that I posted this message to (which excludes FLs without a DVD section) only 6 had an image and none were consistent (I did revert the Seinfeld one, because that was a boxset of the series). Some were promotional images, some where title cards, some where DVDs of one particular season when the show has been on the air for more than 4 seasons. This is central, because there is no requirement for it to go at the top or the bottom. It's primary editor preference. If we were going by general guideline layout, WP:MOSTV doesn't say to put the DVD stuff at the top (or at the bottom), but it is presented after all the other guidelines. There doesn't need to be two sections for DVD info, and given that this is an LOE page, the DVD stuff should come after the episode stuff. The first thing in a main page for a TV series isn't whether or not you can buy the show, it's everything that went into making the show. It doesn't make sense to start it any other way. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 15:38, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, but I never say any "FUC Nazis" crack down on any of the episode lists. This is a far wider issue than can be covered here, as by your reasoning ever episode list, every chapter list, and every anime/manga article, and ever other serial work should have its image removed. This, again, needs to be discussed in a far wider forum than here. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 16:16, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Well, if you do not believe that the crackdown took place then consult the FILM and TV projects. There are people who were around when it took place. WP:FUC is a policy, and very few exceptions snake by the criteria for significant understanding. Images that encompass the article as a whole, which are generally represented in an infobox, typically get by. It's hard to justify why an image of season 2 of a 5 season show should be the representative for the whole page...if you need one at all. Regardless, you're hanging up on the image. My discussion is about the DVD info. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 16:22, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've been around since then, and again every LOE I've seen pass FL in the last two years had a similar image. And the first season of a 4 season show is representative of the series because it was the start of the series. And I'm focusing on both because that's what you brought up. Again, I feel BOTH issues need to be brought up in a larger forum. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 16:29, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- 2 years? Do you know what older than 1 year? Like I said, there are 8 (just found 2 more) ones that had images during their FLs that are listed on the featured list page. The earliest any of them was promoted as Jan. 08. Most of a little more recent, like within 6 or 7 months ago. For instance, I don't know how one can justify 2 images in the lead of List of The Bellflower Bunnies episodes. What larger forum? It definitely won't be MOSTV, cause I think you and I are the only ones that monitor that page. It can be brought up on WP:TV, not sure if it will bring much attention. BIGNOLE (Contact me) 17:45, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, WP:TV and WP:ANIME since both deal in episodes lists. For the images, WP:NONFREE of course. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 18:30, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

- No. They are neither appropriate nor relevant for this Wikipedia. That belongs on the Spanish Wikipedia, not here. This is the English Wikipedia, and per guidelines, we look only at the major English airings, and do not give details on the other 60-80 other airings, only note that it happened (which we have already done). -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 01:43, 13 January 2010 (UTC)
