Use of census as a source

The use of an original census page is never straightforward and always requires interpretation. Per WP:PRIMARY, "Any interpretation of primary source material requires a reliable secondary source for that interpretation." The matter of the use of census manuscripts has been discussed at the Reliable Sources Noticeboard, where the consensus was that manuscript census records require a level of interpretation that make them unreliable. 32.218.47.203 (talk) 20:29, 19 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
