Inspectah Deck

Inspectah Deck (born Jason Hunter July 6, 1970 in the Bronx, New York) is a rapper, producer and member of the Wu-Tang Clan. Though he has not achieved the same level of success in his solo career as some of his fellow Clansmen (like ODB or Method Man), he has been a prominent member of the group ever since their debut album and stands out on some of their biggest hits such as "C.R.E.A.M." and "Triumph".

Biography

Early life

Inspectah Deck was born in the Bronx, but moved to Staten Island as a child, living in the Park Hill Projects in Clifton, where other members of the future Wu-Tang Clan would live and congregate.

Later career

In late 2004, rumors (originating on his official website, which is no longer up [citation needed]) began to spring up, alleging that INS had an album in the works with DJ Muggs of Cypress Hill. Those rumors were short-lived and this project seems to have been shelved; it is likely that this idea became the Grandmasters collaboration between GZA and Muggs.

In 2006 Hunter was permitted to plead no contest to second degree aggravated assault and served 36 days in jail [citation needed]. Upon his release he announced he was writing two screenplays. INS is currently involved in real estate and is said to have owned large amounts of high-end property that he then sold in the late 90's and early 2000's.
