"Sysselmann" in medieval Norway?

[edit]

The title Sysselmann is contemporary Norwegian. The Old West Norse/Old Norwegian title was Sýslumaðr, from which the Modern Icelandic Sýslumaður stems ([1]). -- Nidator 23:54, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
