Ok
D.B. Cooper is a media epithet for an unidentified man who hijacked Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305, a Boeing 727 aircraft operated by Northwest Orient Airlines, in United States airspace on November 24, 1971. During the flight from Portland, Oregon, to Seattle, Washington, the hijacker told a flight attendant he was armed with a bomb, demanded $200,000 in ransom (equivalent to $1,338,000 in 2021), and requested four parachutes upon landing in Seattle. After releasing the passengers in Seattle, the hijacker instructed the flight crew to refuel the aircraft and begin a second flight to Mexico City, with a refueling stop in Reno, Nevada. About 30 minutes after taking off from Seattle, the hijacker opened the aircraft's aft door, deployed the staircase, and parachuted into the night over southwestern Washington. The hijacker has never been identified or found. 2603:6010:5D00:9771:A41D:2641:554B:E607 (talk) 08:42, 20 February 2023 (UTC)

Similar Hijacking Section
Reading through, this section really should include the year the described incidents occurred to best paint a picture of the climate of hijacking and DB Copy-cats at the time.
Right now all entries just list the date without the year. Jshuli (talk) 05:20, 15 March 2023 (UTC)
- The opening paragraph of that section states that all of them were in 1972. SillyRyno (talk) 03:04, 27 March 2023 (UTC)
Was he familiar with parachutes, or not?
In multiple places the article states that Cooper appeared to be unfamiliar with parachutes and skydiving, but the the profiling section states this:
"Cooper appeared to be familiar with parachutes, although his experience level is unknown. Mucklow said Cooper, '...appeared to be completely familiar with the parachutes which had been furnished to him,' and told a journalist, 'Cooper put on [his] parachute as though he did so every day,' Cooper's familiarity with the military-style parachutes he was given has led to speculation that Cooper was a military parachutist and not a civilian skydiver."D.B cooper is one of the most wanted in the united states we believe that D.B cooper is not alive
This directly contradicts the assertion that he was inexperienced with parachutes and skydiving equipment. 45.48.147.50 (talk) 23:08, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
- All we can do is report on what witnesses and experts say. Some of them say he acted familiar with the parachutes. Some of them say he should have noticed that the chutes he was given had problems, and therefore he must be unfamiliar with them.
- We can't reach into the past to decide who's right, we can only report both observations.

This is very interesting
D. B. Cooper was a man who allegedly jumped out of a Northwest Airlines Boeing 727 on the evening of November 24, 1971.
No one is sure about his background, as he is only known through his infamous skyjacking.
It was the day before Thanksgiving.
This story oddly frightens me, as no one even knows why he did all of this stuff. The most frightening part is where did he go after he parachuted? Did his chutes fail and he plummeted to the ground to his death?
Or did he somehow survive and make it to Portland, the closest town when he jumped?
Did he become lost inside the wilderness and die?
Another thing; why haven't we found much evidence of him? We have only found some of the money he received, which washed up on a sand bar.
All we have is his tie for DNA research.
But something that is for sure: He was likely born in 1933. When he skyjacked, he was in his 40s. It's been 52 years since this incident, and even if he was still alive, he would most possibly be dead at such an old age, seeing how his life went.
So if he did survive and somehow is still roaming the US or Mexico, he probably would be dead, because, you know why.
This really is one of the most mysterious mysteries in modern society. Kobixxxxxx (talk) 17:53, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
