Sting is no longer listed as a WWE Legend action figure on Target's website
[edit]See here.[1]. As a result of the social media, rumors about him leaving for the AEW need to be addressed sooner or later on Wikipedia as well. 2601:447:4100:C120:7D75:1A80:2A90:CC79 (talk) 01:24, 12 May 2020 (UTC)
Pro Wrestling Sheet Sources Confirm It
[edit]Sting is in fact no longer under contract with the WWE.[2]2601:447:4100:C120:7D75:1A80:2A90:CC79 (talk) 21:04, 12 May 2020 (UTC)

Personal life question
[edit]Why does it say that "since retiring from wrestling he traveled the world with Impact Wrestling"? He was with WWE since retiring and wasn't working for Impact at all so that needs edited User112889 (talk) 00:11, 2 July 2020 (UTC)
He is best known for his role as Nick "Crusher" Crushetti in The Encounter starring Bruce Marchiano as Jesus

Editors claiming he is out of retirement due to AEW deal
[edit]Sting retired on April 2, 2016, and has never rescinded that announcement. Signing with AEW does not mean he is out of retirement, see: Arn Anderson, Taz, Dean Malenko et al. Dory Funk (talk) 00:26, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
- Agree. He's retired. Things can change, and often do when it comes to wrestler retirements, but as of now he's sill retired.LM2000 (talk) 01:00, 5 December 2020 (UTC)
There are lots of old guys signed to deals with WWE and AEW who are still clearly retired. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.132.216.50 (talk) 22:49, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
Sting is listed as an active wrestler with his own record on AEWs website. https://www.allelitewrestling.com/roster — Preceding unsigned comment added by 95.91.252.96 (talk) 23:40, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
- Sting publicly declared himself retired. His mere appearance on a roster page that features no prose whatsoever, is much too vague to use as confirmation that he is again an active wrestler. It would be a different story were he to announce a match or, you know, say "I am out of retirement"... Dory Funk (talk) 23:49, 6 December 2020 (UTC)
"Retired American"
[edit]The article says Sting is a "retired American professional wrestler". Sting is still American and lives in America no matter his wrestling status. "American retired professional wrestler" is a better description for the top page of Sting, which also seems to be that way for other retired wrestlers right now 2603:6011:9D3C:19:DD91:206F:CBD6:E614 (talk) 06:55, 4 March 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, "retired" or "former" goes after citizenship. See Tom Brady, Wayne Gretzky, Kevin Garnett, etc. oncamera (talk page) 22:55, 6 March 2024 (UTC)
