Now that I've looked at it again, I agree with you that the paragraph in question should be moved to the article on the arena instead. Just make sure you explain major chnages in the summary when you do them so people understand why. Thanks, Kevlar67 09:44, 24 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I can't say I could add much to that page based on my own knowledge. I only got invloved with it to cross-link it the bio-stub I wrote for Kyle Chipchura who plays for PA. That's why I had it on my watch-list and why I saw the changes you made. Sorry if gave you the wrong impression that I was deeply dedicated to the Raiders. Kevlar67 04:05, 1 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

format format format

Instead of piling in masses of stuff about OHL and OHA, first work out how you are going to format them!!! They look pretty enough tables in the wiki markup but surely you have looked at the rendered versions and thought - "that looks horrible". Normally I strongly dislike the use of HTML <pre> material in Wikipedia but here it is the easiest solution - just start each line of a table with one space - it is that easy!! See may edit to OHA Standings. Excellent - I see you have got the message - well done. -- RHaworth 20:27, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whitby Dunlops--Durham Huskies

When I was putting together pages for the senior hockey leagues, I saw you were working on the Whitby Dunlops. I see that you have some stats as well, the Durham Huskies played a lot of Ontario Senior.... a lot... any chance you might have some of their W-L-T records as well? Sudbury Wolves

I think their may be a fourth or more franchise of the Wolves in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League. I wrote it in more detail on my "talk" page. I'll brain storm further. DMighton 01:36, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Any thoughts on how the Sudbury disambig should be expanded? I'm kinda waiting for your lead on it... DMighton 09:12, 25 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Could you update the Wolves trophy page to include the Bobby Orr Trophy please? 04:28, 28 April 2007 (UTC)

Marlies

Personally, I don't know much about their history, but I can relate to your struggle as the St. Michael's Buzzers and the Markham Waxers are two of the oldest teams in hockey history... but there seems to be no great statistical background -- let alone an appropriate written history.

Currently I am struggling through searching out Junior "AA" and Junior "A" leagues in Quebec. I think I have found all of the "AA" leagues... 8 in total... I have yet to add 5 of them and have found little or no web-based material on them. Junior "A", or what we'd call "C" seems to be almost completely defunct as of last season... or with no internet-exposure -- interestingly... it seems to be one league with 6 or 7 regions... totaling in over 50 teams all in the Southern Quebec region. I've also seen whisps of a Junior "BB"... I guess what we used to call Junior "D"... but have found nothing concrete there yet.

BTW, thanks for adding me to the WikiProject... I've been using it for about a month now... but never added myself. DMighton 07:57, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Peter Issue

Why all of a sudden is this Peter guy going after me, I tried to break up the argument.... lol... I was the linesman in the situation and the guy is taking wild swings at me. It is kinda funny, but where does this guy get off? DMighton 19:40, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the guy came out to tell RGT to not call people a troll, but in the process was acting like a troll himself. I hope this will be the end of it. DMighton 22:03, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What the heck is going on on my page? Yikes!!! Thanks for the help. I wake from a nap and I've missed everything. DMighton 21:15, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cornwall and Hull

I was doing research for the CJHL and it turns out that the Cornwall Royals that joined the QMJHL were the same that played in the CJHL, and actually were turned away by the OHL before joining the "Q".

Also, what is now the Gattineau Olympiques began as the Hull Hawks of the CJHL and moved to the "Q" in 1973.

Hope this helps. DMighton 22:09, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First things first. The current version is incorrect as no one from the Ontario Heritage Foundation made comment on the precise number of months between the unlawful demolition on Sunday, June 3, 2001 and the actual repeal date of the designating by-law -- that is a matter of public record on file in the clerk's office in London, Ontario.

To wit, Planning Committee supported the London Advisory Committee on Heritage's (LACH) recommendation to de-designate the property in September of 2002 (http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:yvBzVR8PNQ0J:council.london.ca/oldarchive/Planning%2520Archives/Archived%2520Planning%2520Committee%2520Reports%2520-%25202002/Report%2520September%252030,%25202002.pdf+Talbot+Inn+demolition&hl=en&gl=ca&ct=clnk&cd=4) so 17 months is the approximate time elapsed after the Planning Committee's recommendation went to City Council a week later, then public notice requirements were carried out.

Translation: the wording in the current version "according to the Ontario Heritage Foundation" should be deleted.

Regarding the other business, User:Skeezix1000 maintains that it is not unusual for a demolished heritage property to remain designated by-law under the Ontario Heritage Act and that he is a lawyer who regularly deals with heritage matters, even though his scenario runs contrary to the provisions of the Act, which he admits with the line, "And although the statute required the municipality to repeal the by-law after the demolition ..." (actually prior to the demolition.)

I believe that is incumbent on him to provide specific examples (other than the Talbot Inn example -- a first in London, Ontario's history) where a designated heritage property has been demolished without the prior or prompt repeal of the designating by-law.

For clarity, what occurred in London is that the council had approved a "heritage alteration permit" for the Talbot Inn (owned by the municipality) several months before the building was demolished with heavy equipment on the morning of Sunday, June 3, 2001.

This is also contrary to the Ontario Heritage Act as an alteration permit approved by a municipal council cannot be used to demolish a designated heritage property. Since the municipality is the body that often initiates charges under the Act, no charges were laid as no citizen stepped forward to initiate them, nor did the province. Barry Wells 23:58, 2 April 2006 (UTC) (copied from John Labatt Centre's discussion page.)Barry Wells 00:12, 3 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I should add that what an official at the Ontario Heritage Foundation said to me when I did a story on this for SCENE magazine in 2001 is that they'd never heard of a designated heritage property being demolished without first repealing the designating by-law and that "it was likely a first in Ontario and possibly Canada." Alright, I've passed this by the WikiProject and no one said anything. Do you have any idea what happened with the OPJHL between 1988 and 1993? I know they joined the CJAHL in 1993, but they seemed to drop off the map before that... any ideas? DMighton 22:43, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Kitchener Rangers

Incredible thorough, much better than it was a month or two ago. I did a little minor edit putting in a bracket, but other than that it looked good. I might personally add more to the team history later, more specifically their 2003 Memorial Cup run. Its a shame that they got eliminated so quickly this year. Good Job! Sorry, I only go back that far for NHL history. I wasn't even born yet during the Rangers first Mem. Cup. So I know very little about the Greenshirts and I didn't even know about the Canucks. Croat Canuck Go Leafs Go 02:40, 5 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I know that the Dutchmen are sort of an affiliate of the Rangers, players get called up from them and such, and they play in a local Jr. B league with teams like the Elmira Sugar Kings, Waterloo Siskins, and perhaps the most famous and most NHL-player producing team of them all, the Stratford Cullitons. Other than that, I don't know too much. The only thing I know about minor hockey in Kitchener is that they have AAA.. I grew up in a rural town about 30 minutes away from Kitchener, and played hockey there growing up, so I don't know too much about Kitchener minor hockey. George Richardson Trophy

Do you have any info on this trophy? Maybe even a list of champions? Is it now officially a dead trophy? I've been working on Canada West the last couple days and have been chipping away at the Abbott Cup, and I am told that the Abbott Cup is not dead by the stats guy for the Vernon Vipers.... still awarded, even though it doesn't receive any press. Any help? DMighton 05:35, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know anything about the Richardson Trophy after 1971. I would assume the list of Champions are the same as those competing for the Memorial Cup. In 1922 the Fort William War Vets were grouped in the East, defeating Toronto Aura Lee to go to the Memorial Cup.
  • Here is a link to the biography of George Richardson, the namesake of the trophy. [1]

What would you say to Category:OHL coaches? It's not right to put team coaches in with the alumni and there probably isn't enough articles on coaches to categorize them by team. Good idea? BoojiBoy 01:41, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is a good category, but many OHL coaches were also playing alumni and belong in both categories. Flibirigit 02:31, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
True, but a lot weren't players for the team they coached. Dale Hunter for example is SUD and KIT alumni, no playing connection to the Knights, and there are others with no playing connection at all. I'll create it tomorrow unless you can think of a good reason why not. BoojiBoy 04:43, 16 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

S.S.Marie Greyhounds & Sudbury Wolves

I've been working a lot lately... but I've been busy doing research... I've found the WLT records for the Wolves and the Soo Greyhounds from the NOJHL before they expanded... I also found out that when the OHL expanded with Sudbury and the Soo, it forced the NOJHL to fold for around 10 years. If you are interested in having these records... just contact me. DMighton 04:56, 22 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have contacted the NOJHL historian. He has told me that the Wolves and the Greyhounds left the NOJHL in 1972 and joined the OHL. The Sudbury Wolves that now play in the OHL are the SAME team that were in the NOJHL from 1962-1972. The Franchise rights were bought from the Flyers, therefore the Flyers' players were probably bought as well and probably offered a tryout. But... as I said... the OHL Wolves are the same team as the NOJHL Wolves. The Emms sold the "OHL Franchise Spot", which was bought by the Wolves. DMighton 04:56, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The precedent set forth with the OHL articles is to follow the OHA/OHL franchise. The foundation dates listed are for OHL teams, but two dates can be listed for the two levels of hockey.
Although the situation with the Wolves is unique. Despite that the Flyers were bought, relocated and renamed, its still the same OHL franchise. It would seem likely that two franchises merged into one, under the common ownership from the NOJHL Wolves.
Do you have any names of owners? They would be important to the articles.
What information does the historian have about the roster from the NOJHL Wolves of 1971-72? It would be interesting to compare it to the rosters from the 1971-72 Flyers and the 1972-73 Wolves.
Either way, the Sudbury Wolves and Sudbury Wolves (disambiguation) articles will need to be updated. Flibirigit 05:19, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well... it seems that they may have been merged. The Flyers' rights were bought out by the NOJHL Wolves... and I would like the WOlves' page to show that.... including their W-L-T records of the Wolves. I don't care how you do it... as long as the information is there and available. Do it the way you want... but the NOJHL/OHL Wolves are the same team... and there needs to be something, somewhere that says that and shows the records I dug up. DMighton 05:32, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I will incorporate everything. There will be many articles that will need to be corrected. Please forward me that email. Thanks. Flibirigit 05:43, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The e-mails are forwarded. I've contact about half of the Tier II leagues so far... and a couple have written back. The NOJHL situation is rather unique. The failure of a couple teams could spell doom for the league. When the Wolves and Greyhounds jumped ship to the OHL... it actually caused the NOJHL to fold for over half a decade -- the Wolves and Hounds were the leagues 2 best teams... and without them... the league felt they could not operate efficiently enough for Tier II Junior "A".
BTW, I do not have roster info or ownership info... I had already milked the guy for decades worth of league standings... I thought I'd hold off on bothering him further until I had some concrete questions for him. DMighton 05:48, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It's actually by Scott Young, the hockey writer (and Neil Young's father). BoojiBoy 15:33, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Does it include a list of Clarence Schmalz Cup Champions (OHA Jr. C)? Or OHA Cup Champions (Jr. D)? I'm also looking for the champions of each Jr. C league... can you help me? I'll even take a scan of the page in my e-mail is possible... DMighton 03:32, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The book tell anecdotes, mostly from early OHA history, before 1961. Most stories are about people and the decision they made to shape history. There are no lists of champions, scorers etc. It will likely take me until the fall to put it on wikipedia. I will be too busy in the summer. Flibirigit 04:18, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I was just curious. It is very hard to get info out of the OHA. Even champion info. It seems like only one or two people know anything historical... and they have to be willing to share for it to be worth any time. Thank you for the answer. If you find anything interesting about any of the teams or leagues I've worked with... that would be amazing... as you know... I have every active OHA league listed and a few defunct and now at least stubs for every active Junior team... any help would be appreciated. DMighton 04:27, 4 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Barrie Colts and the OPJHL

So, as it turns out... the OHA Junior "A" League folded in 1987 due to corruption and teams failing. The remaining teams joined the Central Junior B Hockey League. The Central Junior B League was promoted to Junior "A" at the start of the 1993-94 Season and renamed the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League. The Barrie Colts remained in the OPJHL for two season after the promotion before they too were promoted to the OHL.

Anyways, I left their season-by-season WLT records in the Colts talk page for you. Please use it, I imagine you will. I now have the standings for the CJBHL and OPJHL from 1979 until present and will be updating the pages of anywhere from 40 to 60 teams. DMighton 06:32, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sault Thunderbirds

Jason, I couldn't help but notice what an incredible job you've done on the OHA/OHL entries especially. Great work. There is one thing that I'm going to leave for you to mull over. The 1959 - 1962 entry in the EPHL was actually called the Sault Thunderbirds and not the Greyhounds. Also there were Greyhound teams in the "NOHA Sr. A" league, pre-1959, that you might want to gather some history on to make your Greyhounds article more complete.

A Greyhounds Sr. team won the Allen Cup in 1924 and another came within a win of going to the championships in, I believe, 1955. You can email anytime at jwarner-smith@shaw.ca if there is anything you're having trouble finding. Also if I can find anything to add to your articles, I'll send it on. Junior Canadiens

Hi Flibirigit, I spent an afternoon in the archives this week and copied out OHL playoff results from the Globe and Mail from 1963-64 to 1974 (and I'm going back today to get the numbers from 1974-75, which I forgot we didn't have). It's inconceivable to me that the OHL office doesn't make this information available, but hey, it should be available somewhere, so Wikipedia may as well be it. I still have to add yearly results to the HAM, STC, MON and NF pages.

I thought that you might want to know something else I learned from the Globe and Mail - exactly what happened between the Junior Canadiens and Kingston and Rouyn-Noranda. Apparently in the spring of 1972, when Hap Emms was moving the Flyers north to Sudbury, the league was taking expansion bids from Soo, Thunder Bay and Kingston. The league rejected all three, and supposedly Tom Smythe of the Marlies was the one who was the main person against, because it would mean more home games and MLG was already booked so solid he was having trouble getting dates. After an uproar, the Sault was admitted as a rival to Sudbury, while T-Bay and Kingston were rejected. Meanwhile, the Junior Canadiens were under threat of a lawsuit from the QMJHL, who wanted them back in their league (and obviously wanted a presence in the biggest city in Quebec). The team owner applied for, and received, a year's suspension from the OHL, although the Globe reported "The team will likely not be back in the OHA". The next season, the QMJHL officially admitted a team under the same ownership and with a lot of the same players called the Montreal Blue Red and White, and the QMJHL considered this team the same as the Junior Habs although they were not allowed to use the name. Meanwhile, the OHA officially resurrected the "suspended operations" Junior Habs the following season and "moved" them to Kingston, even though there was new ownership and players.

So in answer to the question of who the legitimate successor to the Montreal Junior Canadiens is, the answer is "both, and neither". The Q team got the arena, ownership and players, while the O team got the name and place in the OHA. Or, to rephrase, if you ask the OHL office, Kingston is the Junior Habs, while if you ask the Q office, Rouyn-Noranda is.

Weird, eh? BoojiBoy 16:02, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BoojiBoy, I remember reading a similar story about the Jr. Canadiens, but I could never figure out where I read it or find the source. What I recall reading is approximately the followng:
  • the owners of the Junior Canadiens were in financial trouble and took a year off to sort out their business.
  • the "oha franchise spot" was revived by the same owners in Kingston after a year off.
As you can see this is different than what you have mentioned. I am more inclined to believe that the Junior Habs franchise became the Montreal Bleu Blanc Rouge, along the lines of common ownership, players etc. See also the discussion archived at WikiProject Ice Hockey.
I know all that and I agree with it. I thought you would be interested in learning what I got out of the Globe and Mail at the time it was happening. BoojiBoy 18:07, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
This needs to be mentioned on the articles for the teams involved. How should we incorporate this into the articles? Maybe it could be mentioned in the Ontario Hockey League History article instead? Flibirigit 18:17, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think that it should be mentioned in OHL history. I agree that the Junior Habs are the Huskies while the Kingston Canadians have only a tangential claim. Maybe the whole thing could be mentioned on the Kingston page too. BoojiBoy 18:21, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, if you have a copy of the Lapp/MacAulay book about the Memorial Cup, could you maybe add the Richardson Trophy games to the playoff results sections? Right now I have them going straight from the OHA playoffs to the Memorial Cup since I don't have the Eastern results handy. BoojiBoy 18:32, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Defunct OHA teams

I have expanded OHA Standings back to 1939-40. I have also re-worked the defunct OHL template, see Template talk:Defunct OHL for my explanation. I've been bold in re-working it, but I invite your comments. BoojiBoy 20:25, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I am away alot in the summer, and I'm not able to make major contributions during soccer season. I'm still working on the Soo Greyhounds and processing all the photos I took of the Gardens while it was standing. Flibirigit 20:45, 24 July 2006
An idea that I was planning to work on, was writing an article or stub, for all Junior 'A' teams since junior hockey was split into tiers in 1933, and creating one history article summarizing all junior teams, defunct and existant, prior to 1933. It doesn't matter to me if these pre-1933 teams are in the template, but teams since 1933 should be. I might get around to that when the snow comes back though! Flibirigit 20:45, 24 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know how much time I have in the fall but I think your idea is a good one. We can re-do the template when the articles can be written. I'll also go back to the archive and get standings from 1933 onward. BoojiBoy 18:34, 25 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Teams since 1933 have been added to the template. Some stubs still need to be written. Flibirigit 03:03, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OHA Affiliations

I am currently trying to round up former names of all the Ontario junior leagues. To be honest with you, the way I do it with teams and past names is not as aesthetically pleasing when I apply it to the leagues -- but I might be a little over critical: ex: Southern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

I'm also trying to find Season-by-Season standings for Ontario Junior "C", but so far only the Central C and Eastern Ontario C have been forthcoming... most don't even write back. Despite some polishing, I have the S-by-S for all of Junior B... I will need to start doing histories soon... but I am heading up to Lion's Head in the Bruce soon for a vacation... so... lol... we'll see what I can get done before and what will have to wait.

One thing though... I wouldn't mind it if we could figure out a way to list OHL-OHA team affiliations in the team templates of the OHL and OHA teams... what do you think? DMighton 16:54, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The template is set up for all Canadian Hockey League teams right now. It could be applied to all teams, if anyone has the info for affiliated teams. But, some clubs change affiliations frequently too. Could be a lot of work to straighten it out. Do you know anything about farm systems outside of Ontario? Flibirigit 20:21, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I can find out on the OPJHL message board for the OHL... but for the Q or the WHL it might be a little harder... Resolute might know... Quebec... we'll find a way. DMighton 02:27, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Flib, sorry... I've been up in sunny Lion's Head, Ontario for the last half week and will be there until next Saturday. For the WHL, see what User:Resolute knows... for the QMJHL... we will probably have to contact the leagues or find a message board. DMighton 16:31, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How about putting affiliated teams in the "See also" section of the article? It would be simpler, and avoid empty space in the template where the information is not available. Flibirigit 13:21, 18 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Honestly... I'd rather see it in a more notable place than "See also"... If there is no team to place in the template... then we can just not add that section to the template. DMighton 03:04, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
According to Resolute, the WHL does not use a concrete affiliation system... players are just assigned to local leagues in the BCHL, AJHL, SJHL, and MJHL... I'm not sure if he is certain of this... but I think there is a good chance that he is right... that is a very, very spaced out league... affiliation would probably be tough... DMighton 00:53, 5 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Speaking of this, I noticed that you added an affiliation row to the CHL infobox template. Is there any chance that this row can be made into an optional heading, as the empty field doesnt look very good on the WHL team articles. Failing that, a separate WHL team template may have to be created. Thanks! Resolute 03:55, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes there is a way to make it optional. But I haven't had enough time to figure out the coding. I was hoping to get around to it Sunday night. Flibirigit 04:47, 16 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have learned about Parser Functions, and completed the change. Flibirigit 03:36, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Saginaw Spirit mascot

I'm not sure you needed to revert the part about the new mascot though, it is in fact named after Stephen Colbert. -- Earl Andrew - talk 04:01, 4 October 2006 (UTC

Do you have verifiable evidence of that? I'm extremely hesistant to add anything that stem from a satirical web site. Flibirigit 04:04, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, the way it was displayed on the show made it seem real, and he's done this before with other things (like the M0 bridge), which turned out to be real. I'm trying to access the Saginaw Spirit website, but it is very slow (probably for Colbert reasons). -- Earl Andrew - talk 04:11, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I will gradly retract the statement, if it is true. I wait. Flibirigit 04:13, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yep, it's on their main page. You should watch the segment if you get a chance, he mentioned a number of OHL teams, and even mentioned 67's player Jamie McGinn :-D -- Earl Andrew - talk 04:15, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Stephen Colbert

Sort of related... You took away my addition to the Oshawa, Ontario entry. All that was included in my addition is true. And I suppose I should wish you a Happy Stephen Colbert Day in March. It's ok though. You seem to have some sort of problem with Colbert. You can just add in the info later. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jordanjandrew (talkcontribs)

Please see Wikipedia's guidlines on publicity stunts. Also, consider the length to which you described the event. You placed more weight on that event that the history of Oshawa itself. Flibirigit 17:06, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Flibirigit, I have just removed one of the links you added to this article which, as far as I could see, was merely commercial and lacking in the added value that can justify inclusion of such sites. If I am missing something please revert, or rather link into the bit of the site that provides the good information. Your other link, however, was really useful: for Italian islands in general, indeed. Good stuff. Cheers —Ian Spackman 11:25, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't add that, someone else did. I elaborated on it. 12:45, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Robertson Cup

Hey... I just got the OHA Handbook... you know... they list the OHA Major Junior "A" Champions pre-J. Ross Robertson Cup from 1893-1933 in there... I think this should be included somewhere... maybe even on the Robertson trophy page... what do you think? DMighton 04:18, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Not bad eh? DMighton 19:32, 25 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Templates and Template:CHL team

Thanks for the note -- actually, that's the template I'm modifying a copy of, off on a temp page in my userspace. Once I get it down, and where it won't break anything else, I'll discuss copying my changes back over the CHL team template. -- ArglebargleIV 17:17, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've put together an extended and fully conditional version of Template:CHL team in my userspace, currently called User:ArglebargleIV/teamtemplate. Take a look at User:ArglebargleIV/testing team template. I used DMighton's examples in there, let me know what you think, and thanks for the advice!. -- ArglebargleIV 18:12, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Background Info

I originally designed Template:CHL team for all teams in the Canadian Hockey League. At the time only Template:OHL team existed. and the QMJHL and WHL had only tables or no infobox. Devan and I chose to add "affiliates" to the box, but it needed to be optional. The "conference" field as also made optional for the QMJHL.

Since then, I've planned to make changes, but have not had much time. I'd like to add more optional fields to make the template applicable to defunct teams. Such fields are, "existence," "nhl affiliation" (which could be parent club) and so on. For examples, look at:

I'm comfortable adding these optional fields. I'd rather exclude the arena capacity and rink size. I just haven't had time to replace the text on over 100 teams.

A further project which I may not get to for a while is making Template:AHL team. Currently all those teams use tables. Flibirigit 19:02, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Implementation

Well Flib, what do you think of it? DMighton 19:36, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to implement it for every hockey team in Canada, professional leagues excluded for now. Flibirigit 19:43, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Alright... then lets do it... the ones I've been doing so far have been very "rag-tag"... let's clean it up. Is it set up to go now? Or are the kinks worked out yet? DMighton 19:49, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've implemented the changes worked on and suggested by ArglebargleIV, with the following changes:

    • Tean name is fixed as per article title.
    • League is a mandatory field.
    • City is a mandatory field.

Flibirigit 20:16, 26 October 2006 (UTC) LET'S UPDATE PAGES!! THANKS GUYS!! Flibirigit 20:20, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Other leagues?

I've added capacity and ice size to my test version, but as optional sub-field of Home Arena -- take a look, if you like it I'll copy it over to CHL team template. -- ArglebargleIV 20:42, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'd rather leave it out, but if folks at Wikipedia:WikiProject Ice Hockey want it, then so be it. I'd also like to convince them that Template:CHL team is sufficient for American Hockey League teams. Thanks! Flibirigit 20:47, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Subnote: Ice size, Mascots and ticket prices were omitted from older templates due to cumbersome sizes, and questionable wikiworthiness. Flibirigit 21:15, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I like those changes. I'll try to update some of the Jr A/Jr B teams as I have time. Resolute 20:57, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Incidentally, given that the scope of this template is being expanded to include other levels of junior hockey, and possibly even minor pro (which I would support), would it perhaps make sense to rename the template to something a little more generic? Resolute 23:40, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It could be renamed, but then we have to change the text on every article its included on. Anyone have a robot? It could be called Template:Hockey team. Flibirigit 23:44, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Jason, can you help me... what is going on with the logo here: Oak Ridges Dynes. DMighton 07:16, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you have a photo that is 131x129 pixels, it may not resolve well to the parameters at 125x124 pixels. Needs a greater change in size to display well. Flibirigit 07:58, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also, the team name in the infobox doesn't reflect the team name entered into the text -- See: Richmond Hill Rams (MetJHL). So, I've done all the related teams for the Ontario Provincial Junior A Hockey League, Superior International Junior Hockey League, and Greater Metro Junior A Hockey League so far... DMighton 08:04, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You can add the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League to the done list. DMighton 10:51, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I changed the paramter for the title. If you do not enter a name.. the default will be the article title. For the cases that have a (bracketed suffix) you can enter a name without the bracket, ie. Richmond Hill Rams. Flibirigit 08:12, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have only had time to update the Defunct QMJHL teams. Flibirigit 08:12, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, not Richmond Hill... I meant Hamilton Red Wings Jr. A... I figured it out though... I was using the CHL Team Template... DMighton 08:18, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Tiger Stadium

Here's the same note that I just posted on the Tiger Stadium talk page:

Sorry for not discussing the "move" and sorry for not realizing how to properly move an article. I didn't think there would be anything controversial about the two major Tiger Stadiums agreeing not to hog the Tiger Stadium page. As for the edit history issue, I didn't think that would be a big deal. By moving Tiger Stadium to Tiger Stadium (Detroit), the old edit history would still always be at the original Tiger Stadium page for anyone who wanted to go back there looking for something. As you know, what I did was I cut-and-pasted the Tiger Stadium page over to Tiger Stadium (Detroit). But I also did a google search to find all the instances of "Tiger Stadium" on wikipedia, and I went to a large number of those pages and changed the all links that pointed to Tiger Stadium and changed them so that they now point to Tiger Stadium (Detroit). Once again, sorry about that, but I didn't think it would be controversial. Anyway, the point is that this isn't something that is going to go away. In the years to come, more and more people will get frustrated by the fact that Detroit is hogging the Tiger Stadium page. Before the Tiger Stadium page was created on behalf of Detroit's Tiger Stadium, the creator should have searched the internet to make sure their wasn't any other major Tiger Stadium out there. Because of his or her negligence, that is why the situation is the way it is today. Wikiwopbop 06:31, 10 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Founding of Flin Flon Bombers

I am certain the Bombers history predates the WCHL, as my grandfather played for them in the early 50s. Whether it is continuous or not, I am not certain, and will definitely have to check it out. It is extremely likely that the Bombers predated the WCHL, and simply shifted from the SJHL like most other Saskatchewan teams did. The conflict with the Spokane Flyers exists because I used the WCHL franchise date for the Bombers rather than the team's original franchise date. I'm going to clarify that in the article. I am undecided if the infobox should say the Bombers existed from 1927 or from 1967 though. Resolute 05:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OHL teams in Tier II

Alright... I've added the whole Guelph CMC's/Platers thing to the point that I am somewhat satisfied with. I've added some Windsor Spitfires history... including a brief name change in the '70s. I've also found the Kingston Frontenacs and Belleville Bulls that I will be adding soon. Interesting though... the Frontenacs first season ever (this franchise) was 1972-73... even after a losing season they were granted expansion. DMighton 20:39, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Kingston Canadians history is more complicated than being an expansion team. See that article for details. Flibirigit 20:52, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I realize that it is... I read it and factored it as logically as possible... wow, that is a messed up history. DMighton 20:58, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Basically, I just got lucky... I just found 4/6 years of the SOJAHL standings, 1/2 years of the WOJAHL standings, and 14/15 years of the OPJHL/OJHL's standings minus a mysteriosly missing 76-77 record for the Guelph Platers... lotta info... DMighton 21:01, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I am just sorting out the standings now so I can figure out where the teams ranked. DMighton 21:59, 4 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Niagara Falls Flyers

Just throwing this out there... but the same year the NFF sold their franchise rights to Sudbury... is the same year they started in the SOJHL... and the same year they left the SOJHL (1976) was the same year the OHL Franchise rights from St. Kitts were brought back for the NFF... I'm think there might be a notable connection. I've seen this a few times now... I'm not trying to get ahead of myself, but we might want to consider merging the 2 articles and making the SOJHL team a paragragh in the OHL team's history. This would kill a sloppy article I have created with no history and a little bit of stats... and tally it into the Flyer's bigger picture. I am not saying they are the same team... but I am saying that they are a related history and may be better suited together. DMighton 22:45, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Articles in Question: Niagara Falls Flyers & Niagara Falls Flyers (SOJHL)... DMighton 22:46, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Tier I Flyers have no connection to the Tier II Flyers other than a name. Hap Emms hold the Flyers in 1972, then immediately bought the St. Catharines Black Hawks. A completely separate business group used the Flyers name in Niagara Falls. When Mr. Emms moved his Tier I team to Niagara Falls, the lesser team was squeezed of business. I do no think the articles should be merged. Flibirigit 23:06, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jason, I am really not trying to be picky here... but this seems a little fishy here... the SOJAHL Flyers weren't squeezed out of town... their league folded. Also, do we known for sure that Emms had no financial stake in the team? I think it sounds very convenient to me. What are your thoughts? DMighton 23:41, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I retract my statement about the Tier II Flyers being squeezed out of business. However, I see no evidence that the Tier I and Tier II teams are connected. Emms sold the original Flyers in 1972. Emms bought the St. Catharines Black Hawks the same year, then four years later moved the team to Niagara Falls. [3] [4] Flibirigit 02:17, 8 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay... then the next question for me would be the whole first, second franchise thing... do you mean "OHL Franchise" -- I think of the post-'76 team as the third franchise in the great scheme of things... any thoughts? North Bay OHL bid confirmed(updated)
By Chris Dawson
BayToday.ca
Saturday, December 09, 2006

A group led by former NHLer Moe Mantha Jr., has put in a formal application to buy the Mississauga Ice Dogs franchise and move it to North Bay for the start of the 2007-2008 OHL season. Mantha Jr., currently an assistant coach with the AHL's Rochester Americans has been working with a group since the summer. “I’m trying not to be too high and not too low and stay level,” Mantha Jr. said in a phone interview about his chances of getting the franchise. “If it goes forward we will be ready to act. We’ll keep our fingers crossed but a lot still has to fall into place.” Mantha Jr.’s group would include his Father Moe Mantha Sr.; owner of the Laurentide Golf Club in Sturgeon Falls along with a group of other unnamed investors. The franchise was put up for sale this summer by Ottawa Senators and St. Michael's Majors owner Eugene Melnyk, who purchased the Ice Dogs with the intention of moving the St. Mike's Majors to the Hershey Center for the fall of 2007. One source told BayToday.ca that Melnyk may sell the Ice Dogs to current Senators G.M. John Muckler and that franchise would play out of the HSBC center in Buffalo next fall. Another rumoured alternative could see the Ice Dogs staying put and sharing the Hershey Center with the Majors. Mantha realizes that there is competition out there but he expects to get an answer before the end of the month. It’s been a whirlwind year for Mantha Jr. who is in his first season with the Rochester Americans. Mantha was the coach and G.M. of the Windsor Spitfires last season before he was dismissed in connection with an alleged hazing incident involving a pair of Spitfires players. Mantha Jr. was suspended by the league and then fired by former Spitfires owner Scott Riolo after the league imposed suspension ended. His Father, Moe Mantha Sr,. has always had interest in owning an OHL franchise, as he attempted to get an ownership group together soon after the Centennials left North Bay in the spring of 2002. Mantha Jr. says if their bid is the winner, it still has to get approval from the OHL board of governors. He adds that the new franchise would come in with a fresh new look along with a new franchise nickname.

The "Phantom" Season

I just got an e-mail back from the proprietor of the Hockeydb.com... he says according to the Toronto Sun archives, the SOJHL operated in 1976-77. He says that the Guelph Platers/CMC's, Owen Sound Greys, Hamilton Mountain A's, and a Collingwood team (probably the Blues) were members and he added that there were probably more. He also said that the Platers were that year's champions and faced the North York Rangers in OHA Final... any thoughts? I think he may be right... but stats and info are is hard to find from that league... DMighton 17:14, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see potential for the Chatham Maroons, Welland Sabres, and maybe the Niagara Falls Flyers maybe playing that year... if NFF didn't actually fold in 1976. I'm thinking of driving to Chatham in the next month and have a look in their library. DMighton 17:22, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure where it should be placed and how to add internationl leagues to make it more analogous to templates I have created for the 4 major sports. Let me know if you have any use for it or any feedback for me. TonyTheTiger 21:41, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I would leave it as is, and place on the bottom of league pages. Flibirigit 17:41, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I just came across another of your pages 1984-5. I think the other one was in the 70s keep up the good work. TonyTheTiger 16:33, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Flibirigit 17:41, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Springfield Indians edits

Looks good there! To the degree WP:OWN lets me, I feel proprietary over the Indians' article (I was a season ticket holder the final six years of the team's existence), and helping, skilled hands are appreciated. RGTraynor 15:16, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

MMJHL

I know that there was a Metro Junior Hockey League that ended up being the Quebec Junior AAA Hockey League in the 80s... past that I would have to attempt to look deeper. DMighton 04:35, 24 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"The Drummondville Rangers joined the Quebec Junior Hockey League in 1966. In 1969, the league merged with the Montreal Metro Junior Hockey League to form the QMJHL. The Rangers were a charter member. In 1974, the team ceased operations." DMighton 09:28, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I'm looking for sources online without much luck. When I have more time I will try searching en français. Flibirigit 16:52, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Your theory on the MMJHL and QJHL, as far as I can tell is 100% correct... it was a merger and created the QMJHL. DMighton 22:39, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Help re. Herb Carnegie

Hi. Hockey question - I rewrote the article on Herb Carnegie in October, but someone has reintroduced earlier comments that turn it back into a anti-Carnegie screed. I reverted it to the earlier version, but I'm pretty new here and would appreciate it if a more "experienced" WP editor could take a look. Much thanks, Blotto adrift 16:08, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Looks good, appreciate the additional organisation and cleanup. Thanks for the help. Hopefully it will stay that way. Blotto adrift 01:17, 6 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whitby Dunlops & EOSHL

I am looking for the 2004-05 EOSHL standings... any ideas? DMighton 01:19, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know where to find them. The Dunlops results are on their web site. Flibirigit 11:53, 11 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I can't find it anywhere right now... damn. DMighton 07:01, 12 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

List of ice hockey teams in Ontario

I updated Template:OHL and Template:Defunct OHL to try to simplify things. Template:OHL contains all teams past and current for the OHL. Template:Defunct OHL contains all past teams from the OMJHL and the OHA Junior A. That template may need to be renamed.

Regarding the article List of ice hockey teams in Ontario. How should we handle the defunct teams from the OHL, OMJHL, and OHA Junior A? Flibirigit 02:53, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That is a really good question. I would like to add them, as it would allow the list to be both complete, and consistant with the others. I havent added defunct Jr A teams on any other article, but many of these OHA Jr A teams were the highest level of Junior hockey at the time, I believe, so should be added as being equivalent of Major-Junior. However, that will likely make this a really long list. It might make sense to split the article into two: active and defunct as I did with the baseball lists. I would suggest expanding the defunct teams and seeing how long the article gets, then deciding from there. If we hope to get it to featured list status, as I would like for all, then we can't use the template as a part of the article itself. Resolute 03:10, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a heads up

The teddy bear toss thing is a Colbert Report prank from 2 nights ago. DMighton 06:50, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That show is such a nuisance. Thanks. Flibirigit 07:00, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
LOL... I've never seen an American show take such an interest in hockey. DMighton 07:03, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stratford

Well, I grew up about an hour and a half North of Stratford, so I know a bit about their history. All junior teams seem to either be in the lineage of or at least predescessors of the current Jr. B powerhouse Cullitons.

Stratford Canadians ???
Stratford Braves 1962 - ?
Stratford Burtols ? - 1968
Stratford Warriors 1968 - 1975
Stratford Cullitons 1975 to Present

From what I understand, the Braves joined the Central Junior B Hockey League in 1962. They moved to the newly founded Western Junior B Hockey League in 1969. Then moved to the Waterloo-Wellington Junior B Hockey League in 1975, which turned into the Mid-Western Junior B Hockey League which they have been a part of ever since. I currently am not sure about Stratford hockey prior to 1962. Their website doesn't mention anything prior to 1975 as their sponsor changed that year... Culliton Plumbing or something. As far as I know... I might have to ask around. I know that the Culltions don't list the Canadians' Suth Cup as one of their accomplishments... what do you know about them? DMighton 06:42, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

From what I've seen... the Stratford Kist may also be known as the Stratford Kist Canadians... with Kist being a sponsor name. The Canadians were also an entry in the Michigan-Ontario Hockey League (I think that was the name). I think it is possible that Stratford might have been vacant of Jr. Hockey between the years of 1951 and 1962.... I have no confirmation of this though.... they may have dropped to Jr. C... I've noticed that a drop to Jr. C often makes people mistake a team for defunct like ALL the teams of the NOJHL (when they dropped to B in the 70s). DMighton 06:51, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It appears that the Kist Canadians won the Sutherland Cup in 1942 and then were granted expansion to the OHA-A League. Probably took on a bigger sponsor, hence the new name. Oddly, Kroelers was based out of my hometown -- the company that is. I wouldn't be shocked if they spent 44-45 and 45-46 in the Big 10 by the way. DMighton 07:04, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Mississuga IceDogs

Mississauga IceDogs not going to Niagara [6] Here's the official word. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.70.52.134 (talkcontribs)

Thanks for the link. Flibirigit 22:11, 25 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They're going to St. Catherines, there they will become the Niagara Ice Dogs, but the St. Mike Majors are moving to Mississauga, where they will become the Mississauga Majors, it was confirmed this morning in OHL News. 15:36, 25 April 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately we cannot cite spoken word on a radio program. As excited as I am about the change, we must wait for written confirmation AND approval from the OHL Board of Governors. Flibirigit 15:41, 25 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, understood. I'll look for a URL confirming part of the news, I'll post it back here if I find something. 15:45, 25 April 2007.

Western Hockey League / Saskatoon Blades logos

You know, if you look at it closely, it can be described as a skate with "SB" as the blade. What an ambiguous logo. Personally, I would suggest removing that line altogether. It is quite redundant with the logo right beside it anyway. Resolute 06:44, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd rather see it removed myself, but it's part of the suggested article structure for Wiki Ice Hockey. For the Ontario Hockey League teams, I removed it from all 20 teams, and created a "Logos and Uniforms" section. Would you be able to do that for all 22 Western Hockey League teams? Flibirigit 18:11, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, that is probably something I could do. Though I tend not to follow the team article structure all that strictly as it is horribly out of date. Resolute 22:43, 1 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have the same task on my to do list for the QMJHL, but I am so busy with work this time of year, I haven't had time to do much. Flibirigit 05:22, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hamilton Bulldogs

Thank you for supporting the merger. While I clearly did not use the proper protocol here, the Hamilton Bulldogs have been one consistent franchise - and I was shocked when I saw the division on Wikipedia a few days ago. I know 'ccwaters' is opposed to this, but I am certain he is incorrect. You obviously have a wealth of hockey knowledge and I appreciate your support here Chesterfield99 21:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OHA Timeline

Hey, I would appreciate a little help and input here if you can give me a hand... I want to build this into something cool: User:DMighton/OHA_Timeline. Please help, you know my expertise, I need some of yours. DMighton 06:32, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I am really new and still learning how to do stuff myself on here. I noticed that in the article for the Moncton Hawks, the logo for the defunct Moncton Golden Flames is not accurate. I made one myself (since I was unable to find one online). I could send it to you to upload. (The logo had yellow where the red is, and the inside of the stylized M is supposed to be filled in with red.)Archangel-22 04:00, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe one logo was used for home uniforms, and another for away uniforms. But if you have more information, let me know. Flibirigit 05:51, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sheesh. I don't think NHL mascots are encyclopedic, never mind minor league ones, never mind minor league copyvios. (shakes his head) That being said, this fellow's already gotten into it with CC, and I get the feeling that he thinks he owns the Bears article, so extra eyes are a goodly thing.  RGTraynor  13:48, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He use to edit as KnoxSGT. He has a history of copyvios, both in text and in images. He'll probably claim I stalk him, but in reality we just overlap a lot in our contributions (minor league teams, stadiums, southeast Pennsylvania). He also has a hard time understanding scope or relevancy (see Talk:Lehigh_Valley_IronPigs, York Revolution or Lancaster Barnstormers). ccwaters 14:15, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That there are other articles on Wikipedia which violate copyright doesn't mean that yours doesn't, or shouldn't be filed as a copyvio. If you think other articles do so, feel free to file a copyvio violation. That being said, that article asserts permission from Twins management; have you received permission from the Bears' management for the Coco article, and if so, from whom? I'd be glad to call the Bears' front office myself and direct them how to do so verifiably. Barring that, your time would be less wasted if you chose to reword the article so that the text does not violate copyright.  RGTraynor  16:14, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fradulent Info

A user named SteveJohnsonQMJHL seems being trying to make up a player: AJ Rivers (he put him into the draft, created a page, and seems to making up stats)...As a Wikipedia rookie, I have no idea how to handle this and thought I would leave it with you. Thanks, Chesterfield99 02:16, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I will have a look. I would also suggest posting the concern to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Ice Hockey for further assistance. Flibirigit 02:20, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The player is on hockeydb as a Major Junior player... but he never did anything past that. DMighton 04:53, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Exactly...he played two years in the Q, but if you look closely, to an original posting, his position in the draft even looks fabricated. Chesterfield99 18:08, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oshawa soccer

Hi. I see you removed the section on Oshawa soccer teams. I wasn't sure if it was notable or not, so I just rewrote and reformatted it so it was semi-legible. I was thinking that it wasn't particularly notable, but I know nothing about soccer in the city, so I thought I'd leave it for a more experienced editor to assess. Now I know. Blotto adrift 21:03, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be more inclined to add teams such as the Flames, a former professional soccer team, or InterOshawa, former Ontario Mens champions. The other clubs all deal with youth soccer. Flibirigit 21:19, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This may not be an area of expertise, but I know you're local and I was wondering if I could ask for your help. I wrote this article, but it has been flagged for COI. They've asked me to get someone else to take a look at it and/or rewrite it. I would be prepared to make some changes, but I don't know if there's any point with the COI designation. It seems that anything I write on this is suspect, however much I may try to write a decent article. Would you be willing to take a look? Much appreciated. Blotto adrift 18:25, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just as an FYI, I also asked Bearcat to comment as well. As I noted on his page, I don't want to impose on your time by asking for anything that's going to take a long time. But any suggestions are appreciated. Blotto adrift 18:47, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I will try to have a look at it on Monday, May 14th, 2007. Flibirigit 16:31, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks - that was definitely an improvement. Really appreciate your help. Blotto adrift 18:14, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Paulo Colaiacovo

Hi there. I noticed that you added the comment "Is this article for real?" to this AFD. I agree that the article is horrible, and not to be included in wikipedia the way it is. Erie Blades and Baltimore Skipjacks Linked (or is it vandalism?)

What's up, I just wanted to know if this "merger" between Baltimore and Erie actually happened. I say this after looking at the stuff on answers.com and they list most of what is listed here. I also looked at the contributions that 209.244.30.243, the user that made the edit in question has been making. Some of the edits the user has been making (since around the end of January) seems to go along the lines of vandalism. Just thought you should know, before I removed something that was true from me replacing the team template with your Template:Pro hockey team, which I might add looks good to have on the pages. Well anyway, keep up the good work! goodnite. Salisbury Steak (complaint dept. - contribs) 01:55, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Response to: "conference championships"

You are right, while I have been inputing the new templates I've also been looking at that. I didn't look at the regular teams, but as for the defunct teams, the start of the list up to the Cincinnati Swords have been filtered of the "finals appearances". Don't know if you wanted to include that, but if it is notable, we could include them later. Salisbury Steak (complaint dept. - contribs) 18:12, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

CHL Awards

Thanks for uploading all the great pictures of the CHL trophies. I wish the OHL would allow easier access to its trophies for similar photos. Flibirigit 17:21, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I was actually quite disappointed that the WHL didn't have very many of their own trophies available. The CHL certainly put up an impressive display in Vancouver, however. Resolute 18:39, 7 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"Founded" part of template

I just wanted to clear something up. Does the "Founded" area of the template mean when the current team was put there or does it mean when the franchise wa first founded as another team? I ask this because a user switched the "founded" date for the Providence Bruins and Toronto Marlies. Salisbury Steak (complaint dept. - contribs) 23:37, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
