Warning My daughter is ill and I won't be editing until she's recovered. Thank you for understanding, friends.

Welcome to my Talk Page!
  • I normally will respond on your own talk page, not here. I don't want to deprive you of the pleasure of watching a beautiful orange bar cheering your sight up :)
  • I usually archive discussions when this page exceeds 40 topics. Of course, at some moments of lazyness, this page may contain way more than that. But please, don't panic - I'm too good at that without your help!
  • Needless to say, I have one golden rule I like to be observed at my Talk page: be nice, be nice, and after that, be nice. If after reading this, you still feel the urge to squeeze my neck for any reason, please visit this page, take a deep breath, and come back - I'll be waiting here! :)
  • You may of course post here regarding admin-related matters or requests for administrative help. Such messages have my absolute priority when replying. In extremely urgent cases, you may also wish to email me here. I'll address your concerns as fast as my human capacities permit.
  • Sometimes it may take me long to reply to you, but I invariably will try. If a few days pass without reply, please forgive me - I'll get back to you as soon as I possibly can, I swear!
Current state of mind is...

I found that she got blocked today, the blocking admin claiming that she is a sockpuppet of her former name. Do you have any idea of what the hell is going on? Karrmann 10:41, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I'm curious too... I know it's none of my business, but when I looked I couldn't find the checkuser file, and I still have no idea why she was blocked. I thought she was a good-faith editor. Btw did you get my email yesterday? Waltontalk 19:22, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Phaedriel, I am very curious about this as well. I saw User:Bhaedriel, and thought to myself..._ _ _? Miranda 02:53, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Note that in cases where an individual's privacy is concerned, checkusers can be done under OTRS. Daniel has indicated that this has been the case here and that the person to talk to is User:Jayjg, who can only reveal so much anyway. Personally, I think it's time to do the RBI thing here ... - Alison 03:09, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A clarification: OTRS had nothing to do with this; maybe you were thinking of the m:Checkuser policy or m:Privacy policy? If I mentioned OTRS, then that was incorrect of me; however, I don't believe I did, because OTRS didn't have any involvement in this at all. I am aware of the details of this situation, and the behavioural evidence compilation I saw was enough to block anyways (I was about to); the checkuser confirmation sealed the deal, and Jayjg beat me to blocking. Daniel 09:07, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Revert...block...ignore...and smile! Miranda 08:01, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

(reduce indent) I saw that, Alison, and I e-mailed him. Miranda 03:13, 14 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hiya!

Miranda (from IRC) was telling me you have me listed as MIA. I just kinda meant to take a couple weeks off...then I needed another week, and I said I was going to be gone anyway, so... well, a few months later, I'm "suspected dead" by some. Yikes!

Anyway, just letting you know I'm alive and kickin' and while not really active per se, I'm certainly not missing. You'll find me on chat, since I'm dubiously productive on enwp depending on who you talk to. :)

Feel free to drop me a line if you'd like! I miss seeing you around. ;) ttfn ~Kylu (u|t) 06:15, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Kylu!!!!! This is the most beautiful thing that has happened to me today!!! :) Rest assured I'll email you, sweetie - we have much to talk about, and much updating to do!!! I miss you! Love, Phaedriel - 17:19, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I mentioned to her that it would be good to post a note on your page. :-) Anyway, sorry for the unasked minor grammar correction to your page. Whenever I see a correction, I try to fix it. Cheers. Miranda 12:40, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Miranda, dear! And please, you're welcome to edit my userpage at will - your help with my minor case of dyslexia is most welcome! ;) Love, Phaedriel - 17:19, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the new look!

What a fantastic layout! I have just added it, and I think it's great as is. Very clean and elegant. Thanks for taking the time to do that. I am super-busy with film festivals Frameline and Outfest as well as other work-related things through July, but once all that's done, I'll be back to editing more regularly. Thank you for reminding me why I believe in the mission and underlying philosophy of this project! What you are doing to spread the wikilove is very important! Question: How to rename an image?

Hi again. I've been spending some time with cleaning up the Sivaji: The Boss article recently and the article is in a real sorry state! Anyways, some of the images are named thus Image:2005112908090201.jpg. I'd just like to how to rename the image to reflect to something more appropriate. ? Is this even possible or would I have to request this image to be deleted and upload a new one? aJCfreak yAk 13:52, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A work of art... That's what you are. Seriously. I mean, I jus can't believe that someone THIS busy would take the time out to reply so soon. Thanks a tonne. Anyways, will think about the image. Am currently in a lil bit of an imbroglio over editing of the article, so I'll inform the guys who're "keeping" the article and then let you know. Will do that tmrw. And thanks for remembering bout my previous case. (In case you're mislead to think that I was referring to the AIIMS article, please think again - I was referring to the CSI CE) And lastly, thanks a tonne for not calling me "ajc" again! Dan it is. :D aJCfreak yAk 18:43, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, whaddaya know. I did the image download+rename+upload+license thingy. You may delete Image:73417053 9cf7fb3494 o.jpg now. Thanks a ton, once again. :) aJCfreak yAk 18:54, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like my Request for Admin has closed successfully at (58/8/2). I consider it my duty to try to live up to the trust that you and others have shown in me. As I said in one of the optional questions, you are one of the admins who I hope to even be half as good as, and your support through this whole thing meant so very much. The case of the George Bush article

Yesterday I was trying to fix the George Bush article, and it seemed like you and your friend reported me as vandalism. Please, don't report this as vandalism yet, I wanted to say something before I am done with editing articles. If a young teenager of school has to do a work about George Bush and goes to wikipedia to do his or her homework and puts the wrong name on the work, he or she will get a bad mark, you know? So even if you don't like the president, please put the right name on the article. I won't do anything anymore, I promise, it is all yours.

Thank you for understanding

Day

Husond already has a day, and you gave him another one! What did he do to earn that? – Gurch 11:08, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you OK?

Phaedriel, are you OK? You didn't reply to my email sent a few days ago, and I'm just checking that you're alright after recent events, and that I haven't inadvertently done anything to offend you. (Sorry if I'm being paranoid.) Waltontalk 11:40, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Phaedriel, I dont no whether or not you've noticed or not but for the Awesome Wikipedian subpage you have had Husond as todays Wikipedian but you have named it to be May 17 instead of June 17, would you like me to move it for you? All the best. The Sunshine Man 12:11, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Husond totally deserves 2 days ;) Riana 12:26, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sunshine Man, she didn't name it wrong. She just didn't create the page yet. The one that displays on her userpage is located at User:Phaedriel/Today/17. That means every month, she replaces the one located at /17, but the one at May 17, 2007 stays the same. She just hasn't created the June 17, 2007 yet, or replaced the one at /17 with June 17th. --(Review Me) R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 12:47, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok... I think I understand R - hang on ...... OK. I didnt mean Husond didn't deserve it I was just pointing it out. The Sunshine Man 13:05, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Direct save vs transclusions

Hi there. I was reading CharlotteWeb's RFA, and that led me (eventually) to User talk:Phaedriel/Archive 31#Copyright concerns. I was wondering if transcluding the quotes from a separate page is better or worse than saving them directly onto the talk page of the person in question? I had a look through, and there were some lovely quotes there! But that made me realise that having an organised set of subpages like that makes it possible to browse through them (though only if one is aware of how to list subpages), which might be more problematic for fair-use quotes than for public domain ones. Of course, saving the quotes directly onto people's pages has other problems as well. It's an interesting issue. Hope you didn't mind me bringing it up again (I see from reading the various talk page threads that it, um, generated a fair amount of passion!). Carcharoth 18:44, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, the lengths people will go to to be picky over copyright concerns. Carcharoth, it's just a bunch of quotes, alright? Leave her alone. Otherwise, how about I start hassling you over your username, which, if we're going to be this picky, is a copyright violation too – Gurch 23:25, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I've replied on Gurch's talk page. Phaedriel, as I said, I hope you didn't mind me bringing it up again. Apologies if that was the wrong thing to do. Carcharoth 00:45, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've just built a first draft of my user page and I took the structure from your page — Terima kasih! I did tweak a few things along the way and welcome any input you feel like offering. While your embedded page-comment says that you would prefer to create an entirely new design for people, I'm diving in directly in order to learn the techniques myself. FYI, I first noticed a comment of yours on a notice board and followed the link to your page where I was struck by the piece on Being Indian. I like the look of your page and was inspired to work on mine. Best wishes, Jack Merridew 08:53, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Article Protection

Hi there. Sorry to see your are currently in a melancholic state. Hope you cheer up soon! The reason I'm stopping by though, is that the protection you correctly placed on state terrorism by the United States is about to expire, yet the conflicts have not been resolved yet. So, think the page should remains protected until disputes are resolved. I think it may take mediation, etc. Otherwise, its going to be the same as before, and we can all really do without more edit waring on that article.
