Notability

If you think an article is non-notable, include the {{vfd}} template at the top of the page, edit the link that will appear to explain why you think it should be deleted, and list that page on the Articles for deletion page. RickK 01:07, Nov 17, 2004 (UTC)

Mrs Claus

Heya, a word of advice: Stuff like Mrs. Claus doesn't need to go through vfd. Just put a {{del}} or a {{db|Deletion reason here}} on it and it'll get speedy deleted without all the hassle of a VfD. --fvw* 17:01, 2004 Nov 27 (UTC)

I've reworked the article a bit. I think it deserves to be expanded as there's hardly any net sources about the girl. Please let me know what you think about the new stub. [[User:MacGyverMagic|Mgm|(talk)]] 22:36, Dec 5, 2004 (UTC)

Catpiano

Why did you delete the article on Catpiano? I know it seems as a hoax but it's not, atleast it is true that it was an idea to cure insanity since it is mentioned in several german books from the time. Most information also points that it was in fact used in practical application. Use a search on google with these keywords (cat-piano, katzenclavier, insanity) you'll find that my information does not come out of thin air and is not a hoax. My article may be small and does not contain A4's of information but it is a small subject and it isn't much more to write about it and I seen several pages on WP that is equally small or smaller than my catpiano article. And does not conform to any of the WP vandalism criteria. Next time you blame an article of Vandalism please EXPLAIN why and pinpoint your opinion to a WP Vandalism criteria.

Fixing duplicate words

Hi, I notice you've been fixing up a bunch of articles with duplicate words. I assume you've been finding these from User:R3m0t/Reports? If so, please could you remove the entries from the lists when you've done them? I've just tried to fix quite a few entries from User:R3m0t/Reports/and only to find they've already been done! Which is great, but if you could mark them off as done it would save others wasting time looking for the errors... thanks! munt fish 12:06, 2005 Feb 9 (UTC)

Re:1000 edits

According to the standards for Adminship, a user must have made at least 1000 edits. Each time you click the 'save page' bar at the bottom of the edit window counts as an edit. When you have clicked that bar 1000 times, you meet one standard of qualification for adminship. →Iñgōlemo← talk donate 06:49, 2005 Feb 13 (UTC)

Hi, and thanks for voting on Talk:Gdansk/Vote. I just checked all edits, and the software is sometimes acting funny, removing one edit with the next edit. Could you check these diffs [1] [2] [3] to see if all votes are placed where you wanted them to, or if a vote was removed accidentially. If everything is fine, then never mind, and thanks for voting. Also good luck with your adminship -- Chris 73 Talk 02:43, Feb 20, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks

A quick thanks for voting me to adminship. Your nomination didn't reach the consensus, but I am sure, when you are nominated again after few months, you'll get a huge support, just like fvw did. Your work is greatly appreciated, so don't be dismayed and keep editing. utcursch 08:06, Feb 23, 2005 (UTC)

New policy

A policy idea, called Wikipedia:Requests for de-adminship, has recently been proposed. The straw poll shows that people are against it 2-to-1, but it has come under fire because most of those polled in the oppose section are admins. Care to vote? →Iñgōlemo← talk 19:30, 2005 Mar 25 (UTC)

Vandalism

Hello. I did call Sonic Mew a vandal and I appologize for that, but I don't recall reporting Tregoworth.

How the heck have you gotten your page vandalized 24 times?

I have read for years that Curonian was not only long-extinct, but poorly attested. Is there any reference you could add to the article about the surviving community you have mentioned? --Theodore Kloba 14:57, August 3, 2005 (UTC) Sorry, wrong user talk. --Theodore Kloba 20:59, August 3, 2005 (UTC)

Re: Warning 203.116.57.34

Thank you for the notice, but I usually sign my user warnings only this time I forgot to do so. I rarely orget to sign but it happens. And also I know that my userpage has been vandlized a few times by vandals I had warned... Canjth 14:10, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

re: Warning users for nonsense pages

Thanks for the advice; I was doing that fairly consistently until recently I had an attack of compassion and thought, in good faith, nonsense pages could be construed as editing tests. So many pages meet several categories, and so many user messages overlap that it is sometimes difficult to know which is the best to use, so thanks again for your help. pablo .  ... talk ... 23:54, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that, and good job on catching it and reverting to the right version. I managed to mistake a 'replaced page with' for 'created page' and ended up even warning the wrong editor — not one of my best jobs, it has to be said! Thanks for taking care of it. Re:Your message on my talk page (must have edited about the same time). Yeah, I know what the CSD are — and this definitely isn't a case for it! I managed to mess up, so again, sorry! :-) Angus Lepper(T, C, D) 16:17, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sylvester DuBenion

Greetings! I have closed the AfD for Sylvester Dubenion. As you noted, the article does not assert that he meets the criteria of WP:MUSIC. It also does not supply independent sources. Because of these failings, the article is a candidate for speedy deletion, and I have so deleted it. Were you giving it the benefit of the doubt, and that's why you didn't tag it for speedy deletion ({{db-bio}} or {{db-band}})? —C.Fred (talk) 22:45, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deletions from the Nailsworth page

I have now tried twice to add an external link to a Nailsworth darts club to the page about Nailsworth. On both occasions it has been removed and in one instance referred to as trivial. In my opinion it isn’t trivial if you have an interest in darts and live in Nailsworth. I notice that footballers don’t seem to have the same problem. Who are you to decide what is and isn’t of interest to my fellow Nailsworthians?

Peter 090707 87.114.151.19 16:23, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In which case I would suggest that some new sections are added to expand information on Nailsworth. Let’s face it on the current showing it looks like the most boring place in the world. Actually come to think of it one section needs cutting down.

Notable Nailsworthians. Sue Limb, why is she in there? She doesn’t live in Nailsworth, there must be plenty of notable people living ‘near’ Nailsworth. Simon Kitson who few people have heard of and lives in Birmingham gets a mention for some reason. While Betty Mills who is well known locally, lives in Nailsworth and has given it years of faithful service doesn’t even get a mention. Appaling.

Oh.... And Kit Williams lives in Horsley not Nailsworth... So he doesnt count either.

"rv canvassing"

I appreciate your intent with this edit, ("rv canvassing"), but I think you've gone a bit too far. It's a user talk page and it seems better to err on the side of inclusion. If 74.7.53.146 had spammed dozens of pages I'd agree, but he only bothered 9 people who had previously edited the article. — Alan De Smet | Talk 01:19, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Stop

Please stop telling users that they are being reported to AIV - it has caused a lot of vandalism to AIV. Read WP:DENY, we don't tell vandals when we report them. Ryan Postlethwaite 17:25, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Many thanks for doing that Bart, your work is appreciated so I hope you keep it up. thanks again for understanding. Ryan Postlethwaite 17:41, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AIV

Hello Bart and thank you for your good work. However, may I ask you to please refrain from placing messages on vandals' talk pages warning them that they've been reported to WP:AIV? Such warnings are unnecessary as: a report to WP:AIV does not guarantee a block; informing a vandal that they've been reported isn't going to change anything. Thank you. My edits to Chicago Spire

  • Don't know to PM, but it was an acceptable statement as many people consider the CS to look like that. It may not be liked, but it is true. More people consider it that than a "shell", or "line of smoke." That's for sure.

Re: Reverting redirections of American Dragon: Jake Long episodes

Not on your life. They should never have been deleted in the first place. I'm saving them as well as the images attached to them while I still can! This rampant deletion of articles on television episode has got to stop! ---- DanTD 16:46, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And what do you call the rampant misuse of AfD to get articles deleted? It's getting to the point where nobody can write a damn thing anymore! The best anybody can hope for is to transfer them to TV Wiki! Either way MER-C did a disservice to Wikipedia by nominating them for deletion! ---- DanTD 16:56, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of warnings

Bart, I don't know about all the abuse stuff the IP wrote about on your talk page, but he's right that removing warnings is not prohibited by policy. Archiving is preferred, but removal is taken to mean they've been read and acknowledged. See Wikipedia:User_page#Removal_of_warnings. I'm looking into the other things right now.--Chaser - T 18:45, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Okay. The abuse stuff would probably be counted as a personal attack. However, the text with which he replaced the warnings was definitely against policy. Also, he removed {{sharedip}} templates, which is also prohibited as far as I know. Bart133 (t) (c) 18:48, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • I'm not sure about the sharedip template, but otherwise yeah, I agree with you. Your warning and handling of the situation were absolutely proper, so I'll just leave it at the warning (it was pretty egregious, but we don't normally block unless it will prevent some future vandalism or attack). Thanks and cheers!--Chaser - T 18:51, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your user page

After that page blanking and other vandalism, I have semi-protected it for three days. Was that okay? Acalamari 23:05, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome; if it gets heavily vandalized again after the semi-protection ends, either go to RFPP and request semi-protection there, or just ask me. :) Acalamari 03:34, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hero Editor

Actually... let me apologize for supposedly attacking you... Deleting my page was a very hasty decision I hope you and Wikipedia come to regret... And to answer that question yes the game does allow you to hack as long as you're not trying to hack closed battle.net and of course if you knew what the material or game was about you never would have put the page up for deletion... but alas there is nothing I can do but repost and then have you or someone else delete it again... oh well.... its people like you and these other editors deleting good pages that just makes everything go wrong... oh well... i'll just make a newer and better one in a few weeks...

Thank you

Thanks a lot for reverting the vandalism to my talk page! :-) --Runner5k 20:52, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good day,

I'm writing you to ask why Beau Long's page was marked for deletion when many exist within the same criteria with no worries. Michael White page for example.. his bandmate IS the Nuthin Sacred indie label and run out of their apartment. He's done extensive editing to his own page and it's there purely for self promotion as well as the rest of the Mojo Rib stuff. There are many other examples that fill the Wiki site. We helped shape an era of the LA scene in the 80's and should be considered legitimate entries. Especially considering the amount of "bedroom only" musicians that are on the site.

Thank you151.213.91.248 14:41, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
