"The Black Cherry"

The Black Cherry is the twentieth episode of season one of the television comedy series Robot Chicken, the season finale.

Newspaper Boy The Bitch

A newspaper boy sells newspapers on a street corner... "Extra! Extra! Newspaper boys are an anachronism in modern day society! Read all about it!"

Pop Rock Marathon

Fizzing candy and soda pop has terrible repercussions for young Mikey.

  • Reminiscent of the popular urban legend involving Little Mikey from the LIFE commercials that said he supposedly died from mixing Pop Rocks and soda.[1]
  • The child and mother on a train is a reference to the film Superman.

Mothers Back Breaking

A mother is walking down the street with her child behind her. When the girl steps on a crack in the sidewalk, her mother's spine bends backwards, causing her to convulse.

Domino's Free Pizza

Two astronauts get their shuttle commanders on the ground to let them order pizza via phone from Domino's Pizza. Domino's Pizza's slogan was "if it isn't there in thirty minutes, it's free." This lets the ground commanders get their 23,204th free pizza.

A Visionary Cult

Napoleon Bonamite pops up as a famous figure from history.

  • Napoleon Dynamite is a 2004 film which stars the character Napoleon Dynamite.
  • Based on the French general, Napoleon Bonaparte.
  • John Heder and Efren Ramirez, who played Napoleon and Pedro respectively in the movie Napoleon Dynamite, reprised their roles from the film for this segment.
  • John Heder is 6' 1½" (1.87 m)[3], while Napoleon Bonaparte is thought to have been only 5' 2" (1.68 m).
  • White splotches of an unknown substance seems to drip off of Napoleon when he runs away after dancing. There are also footprints left where he was standing.

Confrontation & Soup Dont Mix

A dog and a cat (Mrs. Fluffybottom) sit together in a gazebo, while the dog tells of how this is a love that can never be.

Crazy Mutant Clown

A clown that is under a city sewer explains how almost everything floats down there.

  • Stephen King's novel, It, and the television miniseries of the same name features a similarly looking character named Pennywise who says the line "Everything floats down here".

"Gay Pirates"

Ass-Pirates of the Caribbean - a promo for a new show about homosexual pirates - from Bravo ("somewhere along the line we got really, really gay).

A Shot Of Puberty

Two boys in their early teens talk about a girl who reached puberty over the summer. She walks through the scene with a pimple riddled face and slight bumps on her chest. After she passes, the boys excitedly talk about how hot she looked.

Dont Take Drugs PSA

A weakling turns into the "King of the Beach" with some of Barry McGwire's super happy fun time anger go go juice.

  • "Barry McGwire", the baseball player who gives the guy "the juice", is named after Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire. Both players allegedly used steroids during their careers.
  • The sand-kicking bully and transformation of the boy are reminiscent of the Charles Atlas ads for Dynamic-Tension that appeared in comic books and magazines.

The Last Foodfight

Judas throws the first tomato at the Last Foodfight.

"Lewis & Clark"

Teri Hatcher (as Lewis) and Dean Cain (as Clark) star in the new TV Series "Lewis & Clark". Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman ended on June 14, 1997, which was eight years before this episode. aired.[4]

Wet Off The Oil

The cowboy really meant it, getting his whistle wet, not the common use of the phrase "wet my whistle".

Gore Fest

Little Billy really doesn't feel too bad about taking the life of animals (a squirrel, raccoon, chicken, ocelot, deer, bald eagle, blackbird, rabbit, cow, warthog, goat) - with a variety of weapons (handguns, machine guns, a handgun used as a pistol whip, a shotgun, and a gatling gun).

2% Gone Bad

An apple, milk carton, ketchup bottle, butter tub and head of lettuce are enjoying themselves in the refrigerator. The milk has expired, however, as blinking light in the milk carton's hand starts to blink.

  • The light is a reference to Logan's Run, in which each character has a "life clock" in their hand that begins to blink red when their "last day" (21st birthday) comes and they are to be ritualistically euthanized.

Snoop Dogg Plane

Bill Clinton "borrows" Air Force One in order to get to the Burning Man Festival.

Snoop Dogg appears as the pilot of Air Force One, similar to the role he played in the movie Soul Plane.

"You Can't Do that on Robot Chicken"

"Blacula versus Blackenstein versus the Black Mummy" will not be seen tonight so that the following programme may be shown!

The laughter is canned for the sketch comedy show "You Can't Do That on Robot Chicken."

  • This is the first time that the Robot Chicken and Mad Scientist appear outside of the opening credits.

Cliffhanger

This segment's cliffhanger is concluded in the next season's first episode.
