WLIW is a Long Island PBS affiliate that serves the New York City area. Located on UHF channel 21 (digital channel 22), its city of license is in Garden City, New York while its studios are in Plainview, New York, both located in Nassau County.

WLIW began transmitting on January 6, 1969, and is the fourth most watched PBS station in the country. In February 2003, the station completed a merger to combine its operations with WNET in nearby New York City.

WLIW is the distributor for BBC World News in the United States, which is seen on 229 PBS affiliates.
