Japanese administrators?

Is there an administrator from Japan? Some people who like Mr. Barack Obama have redirected Obama to Mr. Obama's article instead of the fair thing, which is redirecting the Obama page to Obama (disambiguation). The city of Obama (Japan) is much older than Mr. Obama. The wikipedia article is also about 1 year older than Mr. Obama.

The Clinton article is the disambiguation page. It does not redirect to Mr. or Mrs. Clinton even though both are more known than Mr. Obama and the small towns called Clinton are all smaller than Obama, Japan. This shows that my suggestion is the correct suggestion (Obama to Obama (disambiguation), not Mr. Obama).SRMach5B 03:14, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you are referring to administrators on WikiProject Japan, there are many such, highly knowledgeable admins on the project, so if you have have any queries or any matter to discuss regarding Japan-related pages, it is best if you raise the issue on the WikiProject Japan talk page. I agree with you that the term Obama should certainly be directed towards a disambiguation page, and I'm sure other editors would as well, so if you could raise the issue on the Project's talk page, numerous editors would be informed about this matter. ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 05:58, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Shinoyama

Hi Ganryuu. Thank you for your edits to Kishin Shinoyama. (A look in the edit history will show you that I'd previously done a bit of clearing up myself.)

This article is a prize example of the kind of stub that I loathe. Shinoyama merits an article, but what I saw was crap: The writer hadn't even digested one of the sources he'd listed. Could it have been: "I want to read a good article on Shinoyama, so I figure that if I put some junk here it might prompt other people to write it"?

My problem with Shinoyama is the stunningly low interest/visibility ratio. He's everywhere. He's never less than competent, but I'm bored by virtually all of it, even the famous stuff. And it doesn't stop there: He seems to be the head judge of the Kimura Ihei Award, and most of the winners are boring.

Well, maybe I've got him wrong. If you keep working on the article I'll try both to help and to limit the sarcastic comments too. -- Hoary 15:03, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I had noticed the history page myself and the previous state of the Shinoyama Kishin article; it was basically in total shambles. Your edit and subsequent expansion though helped turn it into a real, encyclopedic entry; as always, thanks a lot for all of your contributions. I actually hadn't known much of Shinoyama Kishin's work prior to editing the article myself, and so was trying to expand on it a little based on info from the Japanese wiki, but I'll try to help work on the article further. I don't think you need to limit the sarcastic comments, though, I think they're great and help bring a little liveliness about this place (^_^). ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 16:39, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, thanks. I've been busy with this. It's a moderate shambles, but a reasonably energetic and informative one, I think. -- Hoary 23:31, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That's a pretty good article, far larger than any of the ones I've managed to muster up; a shambles par excellence if I may so add, and a pleasant-looking one at that (^_^). ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 07:15, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A sentence, such as this: "The series of portraits that he was commissioned to take remained fresh; that of an unposed (and unsuspecting) Jun'ichirō Tanizaki is particularly famous." is most certainly one of a kind around here; most accurate and right to the point, yet actually hilarious and interesting to read. ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 07:25, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Gosh wow crikey, I'm getting more compliments! [Beams smugly.] This is a most unusual sensation for me. A bit later I'll have to print out the article and attack it with a red pen; this usually brings up all sorts of ghastliness that eludes me when I numbly stare into the screen. -- Hoary 09:44, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding Cardcaptor Sakura albums..... and creating a template

Hi there! I was just wondering if you could help me work on the rest of the Cardcaptor Sakura albums. There are still four albums left. I'll try to help as well. Furthermore, is there a guide to creating template? But I don't know how. I want to create a template for Fushigi Yugi, that way it will be more organised.

Thank you, Samantha Lim88 04:23, 1 July 2007 (UTC)

Iou Kuroda

I believe this is his blog: http://kurodaiou.blog57.fc2.com/

Since the URL has "Iou" and "Kuroda," this is how his name should be romanized in English. WhisperToMe 00:30, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Code Geass

May you cite the source that says "second season" or confirm that the continuation of Code Geass will be on television? Even the Japanese wikipedia entry emphasizes that the exact format of the continuation is unknown. Egan Loo 05:37, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

While the initial blog entry does indeed state continuation or sequel (which is more accurate, in my humble opinion, since this is a television series), further developments in interviews with the series' staff and cast and recent articles in other Japanese magazines have further confirmed upon the sequel being a television season, which is further helped by the fact that the series has been extremely popular in its television run. However, if you really dislike the term second season, I propose we just replace "second season" with "sequel" rather than change the current wording, so that the prose of the article be kept as smooth as possible (^_^). ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 05:44, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please respond to the points I made in Talk:Code_Geass before making any more changes to the article. Egan Loo 07:29, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm already watching the article and have discussed your edits. Please do not canvass and post one thing over numerous talk pages, since it's quite difficult following them all and I'd much rather discuss it at one particular page. ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 07:32, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OOPS!!

Sorry about that! Got a little confused back there. Elwin Blaine Coldiron 21:30, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, no problem. I've responded on your talk page first, though, since I first started the discussion there (for easier access). The thing is, the studio refers to only the animation studio, which in Tenchi Muyo's case is AIC, but Geneon were simply involved in the Japanese licensing, distribution and production of the series, therefore, they're supposed to be listed as the Japanese licensor in the infobox), with their subsequent licensing of other regions, such as North America, listed subsequently, as I did recently. I don't really think that therefore that there is even supposed to be a confusion or an actual disagreement here. ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 21:35, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Ganryuu!

I'm looking for someone who actually knows about the topic to review this page and its talk page.

Are you interested?

Thanks, Yodaat 05:01, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to improve the article as much as I can, but I'd suggest adding the Tamaya article to the Newest Japan-related articles list, so that other interested editors could help further expand and improve the article, perhaps much more than I can. If you're looking to create further articles on Japan-based topics, then I'd also suggest adding them on the aforementioned list and joining WikiProject Japan, if you're interested of course (^_^). ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 12:01, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Anime and manga biographies

Hi. I see you removed some of the selected biographies that I put on the anime and manga portal. I wanted to balance the constant stream of manga-ka and animators with some other people who have had an influence on anime, manga, and its perception. I agree with removing Patrick Stewart (wanted some non-Japanese people), but I think the "Otaku Killer" deserves to be one of these people because of how his murders and the media's handling of them influenced the perception of anime, manga and otaku culture in Japan - i.e. causing a negative trend of public opinion. This would help explain why, for example, when otaku flocked to the shrine featured in Lucky Star, some in the local population were apprehensive of this and warned their children about the otaku. --Awesome-kun 08:58, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Jigokushojo futakomori.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Jigokushojo futakomori.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Speedy deletion of Image:Flame of Recca.jpg

A tag has been placed on Image:Flame of Recca.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with a clearly invalid licensing tag; or it otherwise fails some part of the non-free content criteria.

If you can find a valid tag that expresses why the image can be used under the fair use guidelines, please replace the current tag with that tag. If no such tag exists, please add the {{non-free fair use in|article name that the image is used in}} tag, along with a brief explanation of why this constitutes fair use of the image. If the image has been deleted, you can re-upload it, but please ensure you place the correct tag on it.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[Talk:Image:Flame of Recca.jpg|the article's talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. An editor has nominated Akiha Tohno, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Akiha Tohno and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 15:14, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you did not create it you may want to check that your account has not been compromised. Ami Koshimizu

I have mostly been the one to cleanup and write the page for the seiyū Ami Koshimizu, and have a question that hopefully you might be able to answer. She is the seiyū for Karen/Kallen Stadtfeld of Code Geass, and I'm unsure of which version of the name to use. By looking at Karen/Kallen's page and your own, I'm guessing you might know the most about whether or not "Kallen" is merely a sort of a [sic] for its katakana pronunciation. My theory is that the creators perhaps meant for it to be like the English name "Karen" but have now officially printed the spelling "Kallen" on its merchandise and places listing the character's information due to the "l" and "r" pronunciation difficulty Asian speakers have. I just wanted to get your word before changing it as such on Ami Koshimizu's page. --Willsun (talk) 05:57, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The original katakana for the name does indeed state "Karen" and has actually been romanized in certain official merchandising (such as the character card) as "Karen Stadtfeld". It depends on what version you want to you use in the end; personally, I have no issues with using either Karen or Kallen. ···巌流? · talk to ganryuu 12:07, 30 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
