Howdie. I just weighed in on the Dennis Lewis article, and attempted to add useful third party citations. I removed the primarysources tag and citations tag that you added to that article, wanted to check in with you about that and see if you also think the additions warrant that change and impact your notability tag. Someone else wiki linked so the orphan tag may be worth reconsidering. I personally think the notability is board line, but my citation hunt did lead me to think that he is relatively well cited from his breathing books. Still not lots of third party critiques though. I'm also not sure if the author of the article will appreciate the critiques that I found added in the way I added them. Your article on St. James' Episcopal Church, Manitowoc is awesome! I have nominated it for Did You Know for the best new articles. I have removed the stub templates. Thank you for the DYK nomination for that article--what a pleasant surprise! Though I have contributed to other articles, this was the first one I started. Thanks for removing the stub templates, as well. I will be continuing to add to that article, and to some other church articles I have been working on. Any other feedback/suggestions is welcome. Is the church part of the 8th street historic district (a registered historic district)? It's close if it's not. That kind of notability would be helpful to add. I don't live in Manitowoc, but it's in my part of Wisconsin. Royalbroil 02:41, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestion. The church is not part of the NRHP Eighth Street Historic District, but as you noted, it is adjacent. I will incorporate that in the new "Ecumenism" section I am adding, since it is relevant to that section. I have heard that there is interest in having the area north of that ESHD registered (it is referred to as "Holy Hill", with the historic Episcopal, Presbyterian, Lutheran, and Roman Catholic churches and the Jewish synagogue in a 2-block stretch). The article should be featured in one of the next few groups. You have figured out the basics of how Wikipedia articles are constructed. Feel free to ask me any advanced questions that you have as they come up, but please start them on my talk page and let me know if you will be watching my talk page for replies. If you use the {{talkback}} template, please place it on the bottom of my talk page. My internet connection usually goes down or is flakey when it's precipitating here. I like to be able to remove it from a short section instead of having to edit the whole huge page. I hope that you don't plan on writing articles about every Episcopal church in Wisconsin because I'm sure that Wikipedians will feel that few are notable. You found some that are notable for the combination of their age and architecture. Let me know if there's any articles that you would like help with writing. (deindent) I see that created another article for the Appleton church. I want you to know that it is very rare for a church group or building to be considered notable enough to have a Wikipedia article. About the only churches that will probably be kept long term are churches that are registered historic places or the head church for a diocese. I don't want you to be disappointed if someone decides to nominate a large group of articles that you started, because you are walking on a slipperly slope. Royalbroil
Thanks for the head's-up about the DYK. I have been checking that out and it seems like a really neat feature of Wikipedia. Sorry about the {{talkback}} template problems (the article said to place them at the top, but your suggestion makes more sense.)
When I read the Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac article I thought I would complete or add articles for the parishes that were listed as well as any others that have historic (NRHP or regional significance) or other notability... So I do not plan to write for every church out there ;) (35+ in that Diocese alone). I had been modeling these after other judicatory and church articles already in the WikiProject Anglicanism, but after seeing your concerns I will review that as I work on these and try to avoid problems.
I added/updated a few parishes the other day, and will be adding info and pics to them as soon as I can. The church in Appleton is at the Appleton City Park Historic District, so I will be adding that info. I will review the Manitowoc articles and get more of them when I am getting the Rahr-West Museum and Sputnik site pics.
