Ajay?

Is that his son's real name? WOW!!!!

That's not exactly right, his name was suppose to be Allen Jones Jr, well they people screwed it up, his name wound up being AJ jr instead, so that's how he got his name Ajay —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.93.39.46 (talk) 22:24, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's AJ, not A.J

If you look on any wrestling site, you will see that's how it's spelled. How hard is it to check things, before reverting back or whatever happened?!

Look on TNA's official site, it's spelled AJ. Just about every site lists him as "AJ" not "A.J". I realize the periods make it look neater or whatever, but it simply isn't how his name is spelled.

"A.J. Styles" is grammatically correct. As stated in Wikipedia:Naming conventions (common names), the most common name should not be used where it is erroneous, e.g. tidal wave. McPhail 18:18, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I still don't see why it's a big deal! Why make it grammatically correct, when it is NOT how the name is spelled by wrestling companies? The right way to spell it, should be the version on Wikipedia... not some wrong way, just because it's "grammatically correct".

But some wrestling companies spell his name "A.J.", e.g. NWA Wildside. Moreover, "AJ" is patently incorrect, given that he has acknowledged that it is his initials. McPhail 00:13, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I believe that it should be spelled AJ. Sure, it may not be grammatically correct, but neither is Rhyno for example. Also, in the wikipedia article for CM Punk it says CM Punk and not C.M. Punk. 83.233.58.34 23:30, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
CM ain't initials. --Aaru Bui DII 09:59, 17 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough. Take a look at http://www.stylesclash.net/, which is apparently Styles's official site. They write both AJ and A.J. (and even Aj in the title). Since it's mentioned as both, it should probably be A.J. styles since that is grammatically correct. I stand corrected. 83.233.58.35 06:24, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dark Match

I saw his WWE dark match he had with the Hurricane. Damn, it's hard to tell that man would become TNA's biggest bet and even harder to know that the WWE almost got him.

Stampede Wrestling alumni?

I noticed that he is placed in the Stampede Wrestling alumni category. I have never heard of AJ Styles competing in that promotion. Please provide proof that Styles did in fact comepte in that promotion. I am removing that category. Mr. C.C. 03:23, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[1] --- Lid 03:29, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think that one match doesn't make him an alumni. I feel that if he was there on a regular basis for a period of time or he does shows for them on a regular basis then he would be considered a part of the alumni. But hey, that's just me. Mr. C.C. 07:58, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Why was the Stampede Wrestling section of the article removed? Mr. C.C. 18:06, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Randy Orton

Who put the Randy Orton Pic on the AJ Styles article?

Should we add the incident?

Should we add the A.J. Stlyes/LAX Mexico incident?--989 RVD 22:49, 14 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why isn't anybody answering?--989 RVD 03:51, 21 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It still gets edited. I think we`ll have to do something with it. Maybe even block it. --Soopafred 07:00, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If it does pop up again, then yes, that may be the way to go.

Gruntyking117 18:56, 27 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who deleted it?

Who deleted the A.J. Styles-Christian Cage pic? 'Cause that's mine and I'm really, really angry.--989 RVD 04:46, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Controversy

OK I'M GOING TO LET EVERYONE KNOW, AJ STYLES IS NOT, I REPEAT NOT, GAY, HE'S A FRIEND OF MINE IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, NO, HE IS NOT GAY, ONR DOES HE HAVE PROBLEMS WITH GAYS

(my e-mail address: clement-63@hotmail.com) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.93.39.46 (talk) 22:27, 8 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A.J has been accused of homophobia in the past, I have cited 2 sources where there are raging debates over his comments AND his comment has become a meme, therefore it should stay.

Something that happened TWO DAYS AGO, and was mentioned on a message board or two is not necessarilly either 'controversy' or 'an internet meme.' I think the whole thing needs to go. It's just stupid. As for "the gay community" being in on the controversy, I doubt the gay commnity cares. BoosterBronze 04:43, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted the section. Forums are not considered reliable sources, and calling this a controversy so early after the event is jumping the gun. -- The Hybrid 04:56, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I cited two message boards, there are more including some in the gay community. Being gay I think I have a better view point whether not we care of not. --EdWood 15:43, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Sorry, but you don't count as a source, and message boards are treated as equal to forums on Wikipedia. They are just a collection of opinions, nothing concrete or reliable, and they don't necessarily reflect the views of the overall population. They are only opinions from small sections of the group. Also, as I said before, calling this a controversy so early is jumping the gun, and will probably fade after a couple of weeks. --The Hybrid 22:51, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I never said I was a source, I said I would have a better point of view than BBronze. I once again disagree with you, a controversy, regardless of how long it lasts is a controversy. His statements have proven controversial and are being debated by people in the wrestling and gay communities.--EdWood 00:18, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

If it's really being discusses by anyone in the 'gay community' on any level more meaningful than messageboard bantering, please cite the article, or published commentary, or news report of the huge protests against AJ's extremely controversial and devisive statements. Otherwise, this is a bunch of wrestling fans cracking some jokes over an awkward moment in a relatively unimportant interview. A controversy that doesn't last isn't a controversy, and this is the least controversial controversy I've ever seen. If you google "AJ Styles Gay" the top page is THIS article. There is no controversy. And EdWood, is that you on these messageboards you cite trying to get fans to heckle Styles as a homophobe? BoosterBronze 01:19, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What makes this miniscule outcry notable enough to put into this article? This isn't big. Word of this isn't spreading. What about this is notable enough to be in this article? -- The Hybrid 01:27, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hyrbid, I think this EdWood guy is also one of the main posters on the message boards he's 'citing.' This is just nonsense. The most controversy generated over this whole affair is the discussion between the three dudes editing this page. BoosterBronze 04:05, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know. I was just trying to make a point since a lot of people don't just quit. -- The Hybrid 04:08, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

After looking at your profiles you two are deleting this because you are smarks. I am done, I hope you are happy you win.--EdWood 20:56, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

Sure, believe whatever makes you feel better. I don't care. -- The Hybrid 22:07, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was for deleting it because of the reasons I stated above. EdWood, if you dislike "smarks" so much, why frequent wrestling message boards? BoosterBronze 05:52, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The picture

Could someone upload a new picture. The one that is currently being used is pretty bad. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by JesseOjala (talkcontribs) 17:49, 23 January 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Height

What is his legit height, as it is not 5'10". I am 6' and when he was in the UK for the 1PW shows, I had at least 6" on him.--HDC7777 21:01, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

happy to see him was ya?

Pele' kick

AJ Styles's Pele kick is just called a pele'! —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Giovi35 (talkcontribs) 08:33, 31 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Age

In an interview, he said he was turning 30 this year. Why does it say he was born in 1978, making only 28 this year. I don't remember the source though, but I am sure he was born in 1977.

Three time Triple Crown Winner

I don't know why but TNA refers AJ Styles as a 2 time not 3 time Triple Crown Winner. (At Slammiversary 07 or at one of the recent TNA Today) I don't know why because he is a 3 time World Champion, 4 time Tag Team Champion and 6 times X Division Champion. Could someone explain this? - Jaro Link

Slammiversary 07, and they didn't have their facts right that time. Every other time, I remember him being called a 3-time Triple Crown Champion. 209.247.22.135 21:32, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Journal?

I found with journal on Google and I was wondering if it is really A.J.'s journal. He talks about an ex-wife (I think) named Lilian and a little girl named Ava and it seems to say that he was seeing two women at the same time or he cheated on his wife Wendy! Can someone tell me if this is a real journal by A.J. himself or not?(MgTurtle 01:05, 8 August 2007 (UTC)).[reply]

You just proved it's not. If it can't say concisely whether he was seeing two women at once, whether he cheated on Wendy, or whether he just doesn't want to talk about it, then it's not him. There has to be some angle, and from that statement of "it seems to say", that seems to me like it doesn't know what to say. 209.247.22.135 21:34, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I couldnt figure out how to message this person, but No, Allen just got on the internet as himself in July 2007, Allen is a friend of mine, go check for yourself. www.myspace.com/clement63, look and you'll see him as a top friend, I helped him create his myspace, like I said, he's a friend of mine.

Finishing move in WCW/WWF

On the second to last episode of WCW Monday Nitro he did a Styles Clash but I dont think it was his finisher then. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.117.53.4 (talk) 22:49, 29 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Training

I've attended many training seminars/Q&A's and he always mentions that Rick Michales never trained him, but that "if that's what he believes, then so be it". I don't know if he ever retracted that statement, but he claims that he pretty much trained himself. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.124.4.220 (talk) 04:20, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Weight

AJ is now at 222 lb not at 215 lb. The announcer of TNA during Impact special thanksgiving said " He run his weight to 222lb " look at the main event's video it was in the final of the " Turkey Bowl " tournament in a match into Chris Sabin, AJ and Samoa Joe —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.87.234.188 (talk) 14:35, 2 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
