Your opinion?

I'm on the outside looking in certainly, East, but looking at the recent blocks of Viriditas and Arcayne, I'm wondering if you would be disposed to lifting both blocks as "lessons learned" for two very good and dedicated editors that butted heads. (I'm not disputing your rationale for blocking, haven't looked that deep into this at all). I'd hate to lose either editor that both have Wikipedia's growth at the heart of the dispute. If they were both unblocked, I'd assume that they'd work out there differences on the talkpages. What do you think about an unblock/reduction in block length for both good users? I second this request. This impasse is not from any lack of dedication. I'd like to see them both unblocked with the agreement to voluntarily stay away from the article for a bit. --MPerel 23:56, 1 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
That's fine with me depending on how they behave. Sorry I can't elaborate more, but I'm on the run - do you want to post to one of the noticeboard for wider input? east.718 at 02:44, May 2, 2008

A Side Note

You might want to check Jayron's contribs; there's more there. We've been discussing them at WP:AN. -Jéské (v^_^v Karistaa Usko) 04:42, 2 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am a little confused why you didn't discuss with me citing your excellent newly-discovered materials in advance of the DRV and save me the embarrassment of overturning my own close at a DRV. It is stated quite explicitly at the top of WP:DRV that "Deletion Review is to be used where someone is unable to resolve the issue in discussion with the administrator (or other editor) in question..." Phyllis Schlafly Photo

Why was this image deleted? I followed the proper procedures and cited a specific license. Please explain. I am the photographer.--Cberlet (talk) 03:42, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, not really, if you actually read the image page, it had a note that the image was color corrected. The user who did it dropped me a note. I saw no reason to change the licence information. This is something of a waste of time. Are you using a bot or script that does not read the image pages?--Cberlet (talk) 03:58, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There's a discussion at ANI about the block of User:ElisaEXPLOSiON - it appears that the sockpuppetry continues. It has been suggested that you can lend some context to the original discussion. Please join if you have any context to share. As it is, the discussion hasn't been found. Thanks. Toddst1 (talk) 08:27, 3 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mark Bland

I noticed a page for a guy I went to high school with named Mark Bland is no longer available. I find it interesting since he trained Randy Orton for WWE and manages artists in the music business on the hip hop side (actually started with Nelly). I read your bio info and you fall in line with both of those things. Could you find out why it was deleted? I am still friends with Mark and I really think that he deserves to be on here. Plus he is now hosting a radio show on the ESPN affiliate here in the St. Louis area that talks only about MMA and Pro-wrestling. Any help would be appreciated. Re: Mark Bland

Sorry, I am new to this (couple of months), so please bare with me. I know he may not be "POPULAR" or "FAMOUS" in other areas of the U.S., but he is quite well known here in St. Louis. I have a cached version of the page up from Google right now. From what I see, the information was as current within the last three months...and there was citations to back the information up. I was under the impression that Wikipedia was an Encyclopedia of information about people, places and things that have made a impact (regardless of whether it is as current as "THAT DAY"). If it is about having a running tab on everything going on in a persons life, then it should be a BLOG and not entry into wikipedia. Maybe i don't understand the purpose behind wikipedia. Maybe it is just a large BLOG for others to gufaw over more popular people. I thought it was a place to disseminate information about people that are currently and, in the past, making impact. I think training the WWE's goto guy is a big thing. I think hanndling Murphy Lee, Nelly, Raw Resse (rapalot records) and his new artist Nirvana (from New York actually) is a big deal. Within the last 6 months he was named one of the 20 most successful and sexy people in St. Louis. He is judging on the 3rd year of a TV show on the CBS affiliate here in St. Louis. I mean damn....at 32, this guy has done more in more avenues than most of us have ever done in our entire lives.

I don't know you personally, other than the bio on your main page. Have you ever got an artist signed to major record deal (those contracts are locked up, so we can't cite them for a source)? Have you ever been an on-air personality for a CBS affiliate in NY (for 3 years straight)? Have you ever trained a WWE World Champion? I mean...cmon...for a guy like your self that loves MMA/Pro-Wrestling and Hip Hop, you should totally be behind this guy. Like I said, I am fairly new to this wikipedia thing and I may be wrong. This is a behind the scenes kind of person with a few IN FRONT things he does. Hell, he's a nice guy, and probably would help you get any artists you know a chance at a record deal (don't know for sure...but I could ask).

Eitherway, I understand if this was a blog, but it is a page to talk about the past, not the present and future. That is why it is never immediate. It is always talking about something that has already happened. These things have already happened and I think his situation deserves to be investigated a bit deeper. A real apology...

Hello, it's me again. I am sorry for the trouble I caused awhile back. I just lost my cool when I shouldn't have. Although I still do not believe it was canvassing, I do recognize that my actions were very unnecessary. Denying the truth wasn't such a good idea either, and I fully regret doing it, among other things. I hope you can [somehow] forgive me. Happy hobbying. :) Basketball110 My story/Tell me yours 01:56, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

New Project

Myself and several other editors have been compiling a list of very active editors who would likely be available to help new editors in the event they have questions or concerns. As the list grew and the table became more detailed, it was determined that the best way to complete the table was to ask each potential candidate to fill in their own information, if they so desire. This list is sorted geographically in order to provide a better estimate as to whether the listed editor is likely to be active.

If you consider yourself a very active Wikipedian who is willing to help newcomers, please either complete your information in the table or add your entry. If you do not want to be on the list, either remove your name or just disregard this message and your entry will be removed within 48 hours. The table can be found at User:Useight/Highly Active, as it has yet to have been moved into the Wikipedia namespace. Thank you for your help. Useight (talk) 04:47, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Goher Mumtaz

Why was the Goher Mumtaz page deleted? WaleedDa1 (talk) 03:41, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Isn't this, as a featured picture, not qualify for deletion? hbdragon88 (talk) 19:01, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you :), I see what happened, someone had upload a picture from Manchester and had not put the right copyright in, The bot noticed this and deleted the Manchester image but didn't reinstate the Cambridge image.

I didn't see the Manchester image it may well have been better :), however apparently they didn't put the appropriate copyright on it.
