Alain Leroy Locke High School is a Title 1 co-educational public high school located in Los Angeles, California, United States, and is part of the Los Angeles Unified School District. It is named after Alain LeRoy Locke.

Locke is located in South Los Angeles near Watts. The school colors are powder blue and gold and the teams are called the Saints.

On September 11, 2007, the Los Angeles Unified School District approved a motion to turn over control of Locke High School to Green Dot Public Schools. This move would make Locke High School the first Los Angeles High School to be administered by an outside charter management organization.

On May 09, 2008, the school was home to a major brawl that broke out during the lunch hour and involved hundreds of students.[1] Several students were taken into custody for questioning while at least four students suffered minor injuries. Another brawl was reported at nearby Washington Preparatory High School.

Notable Alumni

Leon "Ndugu" Chancler, Professor at USC, Drummer in THRILLER. Performed with Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock.
