Cover Athlete

I don't know where somebody got those names but I highly doubt Ryan Grant, Ahmad Bradshaw, David Tyree, or the retired Brett Favre would be on the cover.....come on get real. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.246.45.5 (talk) 04:44, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop speculating on who is the 2009 Cover boy. We will add who it is when it is announced and official. Rdogg1234 (talk) 08:11, 3 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The cover is now up on several sources, and it is indeed Brett Favre. (http://www.gamespot.com/news/6189866.html) —Preceding unsigned comment added by NotManos (talkcontribs) 04:22, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Last I was told, Gamespot is not a reliable source. Killswitch Engage (talk) 19:03, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Is this the first year a retired player is the cover? Shake 3000 (talk) 19:56, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No Xbox version?

As I understand, there will be no Xbox version of Madden, as it is not mentioned in the platform list. Is this correct? If so, should it not be mentioned in the article? --CanesOL79 (talk) 18:49, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This link suggests otherwise. Best, --Le Grand Roi des CitrouillesTally-ho! 04:15, 3 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The official site now lists a link to buy the Xbox version for $39.99. Perhaps there will be an Xbox version after all?--Allemannster (talk) 04:48, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I got confirmation from EA that there will be an Xbox version. There is also a producer blog about the Xbox/PS2 version on the EA Sports site. 147.155.182.24 (talk) 02:21, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

FANTASY

Does anyone know if there will be fantasy football on Madden 09

Judging by the fact that it was in 08, right now I'd say yes. Ticallion (talk) 18:44, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia is not a forum. Killswitch Engage (talk) 19:01, 20 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fernando Montano

I'm going to delete: "so make shure you get him on your roster". There's no need for it to be there. If anyone wants to add it back go ahead but say in the talk page why you added it please. Wikifan4 (talk) 02:13, 29 April 2008 (UTC)Wikifan4[reply]

PS2

Anyone know, which, if any, of these new features will be on the PS2 version, rather than just the next-gen ones? 69.251.90.230 (talk) 14:37, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Equipment

Where is it stated that clear visors will be in the game? I can't seem to find the information (>_<). Also, will other colors be available? Whatabout other types of helments or facemasks, mouthpieces, nose pieces, eye-black, is any of that stated in the article about clear visors? Ticallion (talk) 18:47, 6 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Europe

Can anybody source the Europe release date for this game, head coach 09 and the collector's edition. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.106.12.167 (talk) 15:53, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

worth mentioning in article

i put this in the article once, that the site Football-Freaks.com is creating a mod of NFL 08 that is going to be freely released as Madden 09 for the PC (Since Ea dumped PC players on their butts) it was removed saying "non-notable info from non-notable website"

Non notable website?

obviously this person didn't check up about Football-Freaks.

It has over 16319 members, 195331 posts, and 22025 topics. I beleive it is the largest Football fan site out there. This site gets hundreds of dollars in donations from members each month.

I say it's notable enough. should it be included in the article? - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 01:38, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

See WP:EL, unless its something official, from EA for a first party company, it's not worth mentioning. Furthermore, notability is not defined by member base, content, or worth; see WP:N - there should be another section for external links. --  ShadowJester07  ►Talk  02:11, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think if the project eventually got completed and big enough, it would be notable. I know the MVP Baseball series article has mentioned the gigantic mods that have been made to the game to update it.►Chris NelsonHolla! 02:59, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
If MVP baseball has mentioned of mods in the article, then this should be in there, this isn't just Modding the next version of the game for PC like it is in MVP baseball, this IS the next version of the game for PC. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 02:14, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
None of those are really valid reasons to add the mod to this article; Quake, Counterstrike, and Half-life have hundreds of mods/patches available, yet their articles do not reference even one specifically. Unless the mod was developed by EA, or gained some mainstream attention, like hot coffee. If you really feel the mod should be added, please consult the computer and video game project. --  ShadowJester07  ►Talk  02:44, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
