Deletion of Teenage Bad Girl.

Forgive me for I'm not well versed in the ways of Wikipedia and generally use it for reference purposes, but I'm trying to figure out why you deleted the page for French Electronic Duo, Teenage Bad Girl.

The is the URL: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_bad_girl

Here is a snapshot of the page in Google's cache: http://74.125.77.132/search?q=cache:XYjEsTetgdIJ:en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_bad_girl+Teenage+Bad+Girl+wikipedia&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=2&gl=uk&client=firefox-a

Help me, after every edit it says something about autosigned. HELP --Reallikeunreal 17:20, 11 December 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reallikeunreal (talkcontribs)

Basically, when writing messages on talk pages, you need to sign your posts, similar to how you've been doing, only the proper way is to provide a link to your user page and talk page, which, rather than writing it out, is done by typing ~~~~, alternatively, on the toolbar above the editing box, you can press the sign button, which looks like . If you try and remember to always do this, the bot will stop signing your posts and stop nagging you--Jac16888 (talk) 17:27, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Uh huh, but thats how it started. I signed a post with the four squiqqly thingies and then something about a silly bot came up. Im just signing this now and clicking the icon at the top--Reallikeunreal 17:30, 11 December 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Reallikeunreal (talkcontribs)

That hasn't signed your post, if it had, your username would be linked. Have you done anything to the signature field in your preferences? Basically, the bot is programmed to detect unsigned posts and say who wrote them when, and also, to notify users who keep not signing their posts--Jac16888 (talk) 17:33, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In your preferences, next to where it says signature, that box should be empty. If it is, come back and here and do a test in reply to me. Simply copy these 4 tildes, ~~~~, and paste them beneath this message, nothing more. Question on why you deleted my very first article I am/was working on

And you even called it vandalism. I am shocked. I am a bit at a loss for words. It is a bit surreal that someone would view my page when it wasn't even ready for viewing yet. My god, why? I am working on a totally legitimate article for a late blues artist that I and many others love. How on earth is this vandalism? What were you possibly thinking? I was using another artist page as a template and was in the process of editing it to the new artist. Please undo this damage you have done to my page. Kapu222 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kapu222 (talkcontribs) 08:14, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You cannot copy another article and simply change the names to you subject. If you wanted to use another page as a template, you should only have copied the infobox and the relevant headings. You can recreate the page if you want to, but start it from scratch, what you were doing was ridiculous--Jac16888 (talk) 19:56, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What I was doing was not even remotely done yet. Do you have ESP or something? I spent a total of 15 minutes gathering ideas, playing with looks. I thought that user pages were there specifically for content that was not yet DONE. You pea brained twit!!!!! F U —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kapu222 (talkcontribs) 00:33, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you want a block? Cos I'd be happy to give you one? Like I said, recreate it if you want, just don't copy another article. The only bits it should have in common with another page are the infobox and the headings --Jac16888 (talk) 00:41, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Now that I think about it, yeah, go ahead and block me. Why on earth I wished to contribute to a website that can only afford a quasi editor is beyond me right now. Commence the aforementioned blocking Mr. "editor". Have a nice holiday. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kapu222 (talkcontribs) 01:46, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article translation

Hi. When articles are officially undergoing translation please do not remove it from the article until it has been fully completed. Because of your edit somebody has now added tags within it when there should only be one at the top. I'm reverting your edits. I with one or two other editors have nearly fully translated the Tenerife article from what was a stub before and we are nearly done. Ask User:Nishkid64 who does a lot of work with translation to confirm that it is acceptable and customary to place it at the top of the article so editors reading it will understand what is going on. Thanks The Bald One White cat 14:58, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh bollocks. Erm, basically, it seems I've fucked up here. The removal of these was based on this, Wikipedia talk:Database reports/Articles containing links to the user space, only I made a mistake, I didn't read it properly and moved all the translation bars to the talk page rather than just requests. I'm really sorry. I'll start reversing this as soon as possible--Jac16888 (talk) 15:18, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question...

Jac I have a question about why i got in trouble for talking on someones talk page and they said I had "vandalized". I was just responding to his message saying I wasn't vandalizing. I'm confused. Please help! Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Meredithw (talkcontribs) 19:31, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Meredithw. Barneca is right, RivRubicon was nothing more than a vandal, trying to cause trouble and upset new users by falsely warning them. Don't worry about it, he has been blocked now, carry on as you were and forget this ever happened, no-one looking at this can see anyway in which you were at fault. Good luck, and if you ever need any help, feel free to contact me on my talk page--Jac16888 (talk) 19:53, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question about improving a page

Jac, I have been working on the Chief Oil and Gas page to improve it by adding references and more information. The article is still marked as needing improvements. Could you help me to figure out what else needs to be done to make it better? Thanks! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Meredithw (talkcontribs) 19:58, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't much about the subject, but looking at the article, you've done a great job improving reference, I've removed that tag, although you're free to remove it yourself. The other part of the tag means that basically, there are few other articles that link to this one, according to this, Special:WhatLinksHere/Chief Oil and Gas, only one article does. SO to improve this, you need to find other relevant articles and add sentences/paragraphs/whatever about this one, and include a wikilink. For starters there are these two, Marcellus Formation, List of petroleum companies, but there are bound to be more--Jac16888 (talk) 20:10, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Concerning recent deletion of Bluesnews article

I saw in the deletion log that you deleted the bluesnews article citing speedy deletion guideline G8.

Since this happened recently I was hoping you could remember specifically the circumstances.

I check the bluesnews wikipedia article every few months or so and I know it was up for deletion before and the consensus was to "Keep" because of multiple sources and the long history of the page.

When I search the deletion log your deletion of "bluesnews" is the only result I come up with. I don't understand how "Page dependent on a deleted or nonexistent page" applied to the article as I last saw it.

Could you please explain or point me in the right direction to figure out what happened. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.238.10.141 (talk) 06:09, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted Bluesnews.com, which was a redirect to the article, Blue's News, which was deleted after this afd, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Blue's News (2nd nomination). This left the article I deleted as a broken link, which was why I deleted it--Jac16888 (talk) 06:15, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

edit=rollbacker

Is it possible to set a page for "[edit=rollbacker]"? -- IRP 21:42, 16 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Its not at the minute, the only possibilities are All users, edit=autoconfirmed and edit=admin, although I imagine it is possible to do so, rollbacker is just another user group. You could propose it at the village pump, although I can't see it ever being implemented unless the definition of rollbacker is changed, the two concepts don't really go together--Jac16888 (talk) 20:28, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I was thinking it was a good idea, because a rollbacker is a trusted user. If rollbackers are trusted not to vandalize pages, they can edit vandalism-prone pages, such as high visibility templates that are prone to vandalism. -- IRP 21:27, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I get what you're saying, its a proposal which has come up several times, the idea of having a "trusted user group", with some of the more passive admins abilities. Its never outright rejected, it just usually gets discussed for a while, but never gets quite enough support and is eventually archived--Jac16888 (talk) 22:17, 18 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sistem Odası

Hi, I just noticed your message on the Turkish Wikipedia's embassy talk page. On the Turkish Wikipedia, G9 is completely different to that of the English one in that the Turkish G9 is about copyright infringement rather than office actions simply because the criteria have been placed in a different order there, so needless to say Sistem Odası was deleted due to copyright infringement. If you would like to reply to this message, please do so on my Turkish message page here, because I rarely ever use the English Wikipedia. I hope I've been helpful enough :-). Well for starters, none of this was in the article, and besides that alone is not a demonstration of notability, it has to have been the subject of significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources--Jac16888 (talk) 00:00, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there; I was wondering if you would be able to provide me with the content of this deleted page. As well as the redirect, it had content towards an article on a film that does not yet meet the film notability guideline, but which would do if filming began. Alternatively, if you undelete the article, I'll simply remove the redirect to mainspace and comment-out the content until I need it. Thanks, Steve TC 16:04, 23 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's ok. If they think they are doing something really big, waiting 4 days to get autoconfirmed and then move a page that gets reverted in a few seconds (though it does mean more work for the poor admins), they're welcome to it. Thanks for the offer though. I'll get them protected if it keeps on happening. Chamal talk 14:43, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Prods

He's been blocked for vandalism now anyway... That is a definite weakness - I don't see the logic in that. Obviously someone did, but then some people believe politicians. No accounting for folk. Peridon (talk) 23:36, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the block and agree with it, although I personally would have waited for another edit first, on the minute chance of remorse. ah well. I totally agree about prods, when I can help it I never use them, because how many users are just going to leave it on if it means their hard work will be deleted. Not to mention its the same time length as AFD anyway. It does have its uses I guess, its useful for older articles who'se main authors have gone but when new page patrolling its practically useless--Jac16888 (talk) 23:43, 26 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Nick Hinton

Artist has specifically requested that his page be deleted, and all edits were made by me, except on occasions when Wiki admin flagged something, or made a change or abbreviation. No other editor except myself has made any editorial changes to the content. I will delete the page again and ask that you respect the privacy wishes of the artist and delete the page too. Thank you :) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrtriangles (talkcontribs) 00:50, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No sorry, I won't delete it. You can try another admin if you like, but the simple fact that you created it does not mean you have the right to delete it, by submitting the content you released it under the terms of the GFDL, it is not yours to delete. If the artist wishes to have the article removed they should read Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Dealing with articles about yourself--Jac16888 (talk) 00:59, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, if you have time, could you please check on the Daniel Rodriguez page. I also just posted by concern on the Wikipedia admin. page. You were so kind to help out a while back when I began to do some work on this page. I have to be away for a few months, but I am hoping you might be able to check on this. I am quite concerned. Not sure if this is someone to do damage or what, but I hope the situation can be watched. Thank you so much. 71.87.55.138 (talk) —Preceding undated comment was added at 19:58, 27 December 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Maybe ok

Hello, I think it's all ok on Daniel Rodriguez page. I maybe misunderstood, and there was not vandalism and not a threat to remove all previous work in good faith. Hopefully it can be watched I have been keeping a close eye after previous vandalism, but soon will be unable to check in as often. Thanks for the space here to write of my concerns. 71.87.55.138 (talk) 23:59, 27 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. I have re-added the page back to my watchlist, it fell off somehow, and will keep an eye on it for trouble. Well done by the way, at a quick glance it would seem that your edits have been a major improvement to the article--Jac16888 (talk) 00:36, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you so very much.71.87.55.138 (talk) 01:49, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Question

Suposse I create an article and make a mistake, and I'm the only editor of that article. Is it recommendable to delete the article and create it again in its correct form, so Wikipedia database won't have to storage the two versions of my new article (the first one, with the mistake, and the second one, with the correction). Regards. --Againme (talk) 13:37, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well if you make a mistake with an article, you can easily fix it, just edit it some more, if the title is the mistake you can move it to the correct one. Theres no reason a mistake would mean you have to delete a page, particularly considering the database would store both, nothing is ever deleted from wikipedia completely, for example, as an admin I can see the contents of almost everything that has been deleted, except for things which have been oversighted--Jac16888 (talk) 13:58, 29 December 2008 (UTC)+[reply]
Hi again! Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, I did edit it some more, but now I feel bad to have an unnecessary edition in the edition history. So, nothing is really ever deleted from the data base? What do you mean by "things which have been oversighted"? Regards.--Againme (talk) 14:18, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It really doesn't matter if the history shows a mistake, as long as the current version is ok. Nope, nothing is ever deleted. See WP:OVERSIGHT, basically its for when people post really sensitive info, phone numbers, addresses etc, to get them deleted so that even admins can't see them--Jac16888 (talk) 14:28, 29 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hi!

what do you think? that you can do , ah, so shut the fuck, you're nobody that can deleted my info, fuck you, you know what , im sick for this shet, and so only let me do my pags. bitch —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.232.156.216 (talkcontribs) 21:43, Dec 30, 2008 (UTC)

Hi you have deleted this page on 9th December because 'page dependent on a deleted or non-existent' source. I don't know which source you looked for, but this source is from government website and it is accessible now (just checked). So, can you please undelete the wikipage? Thanks,--GDibyendu (talk) 10:50, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All I did was delete Minority Concentrated District in India, which was a redirect to the proper article, Minority Concentrated Districts in India, which was deleted by User:Jclemens, for being a copyright violation. This left the article I deleted as a broken link, which was why I deleted it, if you want to talk about the proper article, Jclemens is the one to talk to--Jac16888 (talk) 18:50, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

David Balakrishnan, and the helpme request

Hi! Sorry to sound a bit serious here, but you did the wrong thing. What it needed was a history merge, not a redirect. Please can you cast your eye over WP:C&P, and look into the circumstances surrounding stuff like this before jumping in. Thanks, :-) Stwalkerstertalk ] 20:21, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I probably should have done that yes, but since the article was entirely by the same editor copyright wasn't really an issue since no edits need attributing to other users, which is generally the point of a history merge--Jac16888 (talk) 20:28, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
On the contrary, there was one edit by another user. Stwalkerstertalk ] 20:34, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oops, must have missed that. Not sure how actually. --Jac16888 (talk) 20:35, 31 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of TheGraphicsMarket and replace with The Graphics Market

Hi. i note that TheGraphicsMarket has been removed and replaced with The Graphics Market but it should be TheGraphicsMarket as its our trade name??

thanks —Preceding unsigned comment added by TheGraphicsMarket (talkcontribs) 02:38, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have deleted both. The reason being that A), we are not your personal advertising space, you're clearly involved with the company and therefore should not be writing about it, and B) nothing in the article suggests how the company is notable, there are millions of web-based companies with few employees, it would need to have reliable 3rd party references demonstrating why this one is notable--Jac16888 (talk) 03:02, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Frisco Community Bible Church

Hi,

  Happy New Year to you!

Hope you have a wonderful year!

I am sorry to see my "Frisco Community Bible Church" page got deleted.

Is there a template for me to follow so that it will not get deleted? I basically followed some other churches' pages and made this one...

  Any information is helpful.

Sincerely, Ivan —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ivanchow (talkcontribs) 19:21, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thanks for deleting my test page! Judging by your talk page, it's high time you got thanked, instead of reviled, for your work with speedy deletions. And have a happy New Year! AnturiaethwrTalk 00:02, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. If there is one thing I love to do, its delete U1's, no chance whatsoever that someone will come and shout at me because of it. Happy new year--Jac16888 (talk) 12:29, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I believe it was you who helped before with persistent vandalism on Jim Walsh disambiguation page? This user is still repeatedly adding themself. Can you help at all? Thanks for looking into it again, Boleyn2 (talk) 09:52, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I don't think there is much I can do. Protection would be pointless because the edits are so far apart, and I don't think there is much point blocking since thats unlikely to stop them. Just gonna have to keep reverting till they get bored I'm afraid--Jac16888 (talk) 12:29, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Mellory Manning

Hi there, can you please inform me why you have deleted a page i am trying to create "Mellory Manning" She is a young woman who was brutally murdered and is a headline story currently in New Zealand, she has led an intresting life and i would like to put a page together. "Article about an a real person, which does not assert notability" this is hardly fair, In New Zealand she is very well known. google her name with New Zealand after it . . . . —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.55.22.34 (talk) 20:45, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article said nothing of the sort though, as it was it was simply a box about a woman, with nothing to suggest any notability--Jac16888 (talk) 20:48, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

geez fast reply, So if i make up the page and it shows notability that will be able to remain? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.55.22.34 (talk) 20:52, 3 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Not necessarily, although it will at least mean that it's less likely to be speedy deleted. Make sure you include lots of references, news sites etc--Jac16888 (talk) 19:20, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

orabrush

Dear Jac16888 My name is Robert K Wagstaff. I invented and patented a tongue cleaning device which is now being marketed as OraBrush. In December I asked my business associate to include information about OraBrush in wikipedia under the subject of orabrush. He prepared and made the entry. We are new at this because we just began marketing OraBrush in October 2008. You removed our page from wikipedia. We now understand that certain information we included in the information about OraBrush was not appropriate.

We do not need wikipedia to directly market OraBrush. We have been doing a test in one Walmart store in Salt Lake City, Utah and sales have been successful so that Walmart has now approved to start a 100 store test for the stores in the Western United States. This 100 store test will begin March, 2009. We assume that this 100 store test will be successful so that by Summer or at least by Fall OraBrush will be in all Walmart stores in the United States.

I provide the Walmart experience as a background to my request to you. We believe that consumers will want to have some information about OraBrush in wikipedia. Therefore, we would like to request that we be allowed to re-open the OraBrush page with the inappropriate information removed that you objected to. Would you please help me by letting me know those things on the page that caused you to remove the orabrush page?

Thank you for your good work. You have helped us to understand the purpose and function of wikipedia. Our purpose is to provide information about oral health and how cleaning the tongue using various devices can benefit people. The problem of bad breath is common to all people and many pets. In our testing on people's breath using the halimeter we have yet to find one person who does not have some amount of bad breath. So the issue of bad breath is a common concern to all. Please help us provide additional information to the public that is not now available to them. Please respond to my email address below. Thank You.

Hi. I just changed your block of 194.176.105.40 (talk · contribs) as there has been a good deal of vandalism from sleeper accounts. The block is now shorter than the one you put in place, as it is a hard-block.

Block of robin 48 gx

Hi

I intend to only use my account constructively now. Sometimes I use wiki at work (for background info, whilst doing my job interfacing trassducers to microcontrollers mainly) and find things wrong (like the thermocouples page), or things totally missing (like PDC's in microcontrollers). I got annoyed with heavy handed deletetions of a whole genre of music organisations a while ago, and protested in a silly way. I wish I had just asked for user deletion then but did not know about it. 81.106.115.105 (talk) 22:49, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
