Fife Icedogs are a British ice hockey team based in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. They are currently in their fourth season as a recreational ice hockey team.

Club History

FIIHC can trace their beginnings back to early 2004.

At that time a group of Fife Flyers fans who were frequent users of the BNL teams’ website forum decided to form their own “team”. This was for friends who were fans of ice hockey, of all ages and abilities, to come together, play hockey and have some fun. After a few discussions and meetings ice sessions were booked at Fife Ice Arena and people came to skate, fall about and generally have a good laugh.

At the end of the BNL 2003/04 season the Fife Icedogs truly came into being; a decision was made to form a team that in the future would play competitive games. Some more experienced players were signed, team jerseys were designed and ordered, players were officially registered and a weekly ice slot was booked for the coming season.

In March 2005 Fife Icedogs played their first game, at home against the Lossiemouth Jets. Over 150 friends and family turned out to watch our fledgling team earn a hard fought 4 – 4 draw.

Although that night seems not too long ago for a lot of us our young Club has come on leaps and bounds since its inaugural season and we now continually look to move forward. We train weekly, we play regularly home and away, we currently have our own locker room in Fife Ice Arena and we are proud to have our own unique sports club documentation which has been approved by Sports Scotland. During the Club’s short existence we have signed players from across the board; from complete beginners, recreational level players, SNL and to guys that have played at BNL level.

FIIHC is proud to offer coaching and competitive opportunities in ice hockey, to promote the club positively within the local community and to provide all of its services in a way that is fair to everyone whilst maintaining a duty of care to all of its members.

Although at times it has not been easy, a lot of hard work has went in to making FIIHC a recognised team on the Scottish recreational ice hockey circuit. We are proud of what we have achieved and we are sure people will be hearing about us for some time to come.

2008–2009

Fife Icedogs are currently in their 08/09 season and doing quite well. Just past the halfway mark of the season and we currently have a "Played 10, Won 7, Lost 3" record. We have a few more games planned and then we have the Scottish Plate weekend to look forward to in April.
