The U.S. Post Office, also known as New Rochelle Post Office, in New Rochelle, New York is a Moderne building built in 1937. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989 as the result of a Multiple Property Submission that included 148 post office buildings in the state of New York.[1][2]
Three mural oil paintings in the lobby, "John Pell Receives Partial Payment for 6,000 Acres," "The Huguenots Lay the Foundations of the City of New Rochelle," and "The Post Rider Brings News of the Battle of Lexington," were created by the artist David Hutchison.[3] [4]
