The HTC Hero (also marketed as T-Mobile G2 in the UK) is the third phone manufactured by the HTC Corporation for the Android platform, as part of the A series. Notably, it is the first phone of that series to feature a 3.5mm audio jack, multi-touch capability and the HTC Sense interface. The phone was announced on June 24, 2009 in London. It is also the first Android device to support Adobe Flash.[1] It is scheduled for release in Europe during July of 2009, in Asia late summer with North America to follow later on.[2] The most common name for this UI was "Rosie". Confirmation of the name seemed to be given by HTC's picture of a man wearing a rose. After the event HTC held on June 24, 2009 the name of the UI became most commonly known as HTC Sense. HTC says that 'Sense' is more than just the UI, and that it incorporates much more with the Android platform and the WinMo platform.[3] The Hero has been rumored to arrive in the US via Sprint[4], but FCC documents have surfaced to show that there will be a version of the HTC Hero supporting AT&T's bands for 3G. [citation needed] The phone is available on Orange and T-Mobile in the UK.
