Giant Publisher's Ad
Read the article with an objective eye and you'll know what I mean. I am excited for this game, but there's no reason to make claims about photo-realistic graphics and such.
Release date
I think release date on Feb 3, 2009 is sure according to Amazon web site since they offer with Pre-order Price Guarantee. I don't know why my edit was removed. Okisan (talk) 10:29, 3 September 2008 (UTC)
- Amazon is not a reliable source. The release date has not yet been confirmed, and should stay as TBA. Serio (talk) 00:40, 17 September 2008 (UTC)
- I see. Thanks. Okisan (talk) 14:06, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
NEED TITLES HERE
Is this game XBOX-360 Exclusive? http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/a/alanwake/default.htm states this is an "exclusive Xbox 360™ title". ----
Am I the only one that thinks this sounds like an advertisement?
Selectodude 04:27, 16 April 2007 (UTC)
No, it sounds like one because it IS one. 217.235.69.251 15:23, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Any Wikipedia article about currently developed things from big companies are ads. It is common to misuse Wikipedia as advertising platform, therefore it's absolutely not trustworthy. 85.0.169.63 09:31, 15 November 2007 (UTC)
The Spoiler Warning
Is it really needed? I know under the Story heading it has a paragraph starting with "In the beginning of the game...", but that whole section basically serves as a back story as to why Alan has come to Bright Falls, and what has started to happen now that he is there. IMO there aren't any major plot details being "spoiled" here, those usually come further into the game. It's the sort of info people want to know, as opposed to spoilers such as major characters dying etc. ChrisJP 12:31, 20 May 2007 (UTC)
Silent Hill 2
Hmm. The story as described here really reminds me (to put it nicely) of Silent Hill 2... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.43.182.51 (talk) 01:14, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
When its done
ok, ummmmmmm, so why does the "When its done" text under release date redirect to the dnf page? what the bloody hell is the purpose of that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.241.10.143 (talk) 01:36, 5 January 2008 (UTC)
- It's a reference to both Valve and Duke Nukem Forever. Both companies say it will come out when it's done, and DNF has been in development for forever and a day, if you haven't noticed >_> 72.192.55.156 (talk) 19:09, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Is this game dead?
Very little information has been released about this game since 2006, it wasn't shown at Microsoft's spring expo, and it's been confirmed that it will not be at E3 08. At the very least this game should be considered vaporware.
- Nah, it's not dead. The problem originally was that the guys had been working on the game engine for 4 years without really thinking about the gameplay. At the moment they just have a huge ramp-up in terms of hiring designers etc and work on the actual game. They have superior world and graphics tools, but the actual game is a bit in the mist. It's definitely not coming out in 2008 although MS is breathing down on their necks a lot. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.197.109.130 (talk) 09:43, 8 July 2008 (UTC)
Ridiculous
In May, it will have been 4 years since the original announcement of this game with a slated release of 2006. Now it's been "confirmed" again for September. That's almost 4 and a half years since it was announced. Now, I've been waiting on this game since early 2006, so 3 years since I heard about it, and if it actually does come out in September, that will be 3 and a half years of my life I've waited on this game. I don't think that's appropriate. I understand that they're trying to make it the best game they can, but I would have loved to play it 3 years ago. It would have beat out Gears of War in terms of graphics. I remember the first teaser I saw for it and it blew Gears of War out of the water, which came out in late 2006, a good half year later. They could have easily made a sequel by now to get all the features and story in that they wanted if they would have released the first game on time in 2006.

Story
The plot synopsis used in this article differs from what can be found at official website. For example, Alice is not Alan´s fiancée (they´re married), she disappears AFTER arrival to Bright Falls, etc... Could anyone fix it? (I´m afraid I´m not able to do it myself). 79.127.160.90 (talk) 20:17, 20 January 2009 (UTC) I will fix it.
I fixed the plot so now it is the same synopis as the website. I am a unidentified user who likes to help update articles. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.160.157.119 (talk) 02:04, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
PS3
Wasn't this game originally being developed for the PlayStation 3? Seegoon (talk) 11:53, 8 May 2009 (UTC)
No, it never was. Microsoft bought the IP —Preceding unsigned comment added by 122.106.39.71 (talk) 02:23, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Can someone edit the page so it still says Windows? I am not very good when it comes to this stuff. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.14.23.127 (talk) 19:55, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
- Also, http://www.remedygames.com/games/index.html still states Alan Wake is coming out for X360 and Windows. I'd say that's a pretty definitive source, so Windows should be reinstated unless Falcon9x5 has a source confirming otherwise? The term "exclusive" usually only refers to inter-console, not to PC. It's also on Microsoft's own Games for Windows site: http://global.gamesforwindows.com/en-AU/games/AlanWake/gamesDetail.aspx - so, I'd say very much for Windows as well, until proven otherwise. 58.161.9.70 (talk) 23:37, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

- Sorry, forgot to check the talk page. Good sources, yep, seems fine, good find! =) Thanks! Fin©™ 21:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Announce Date
The announce date seems to be important information to include. It was sometime during E3 2005. [1] Kinkywhynot (talk) 00:16, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
