The 701 series is an AC EMU operated on local services by East Japan Railway Company (JR East), Aoimori Railway, and Iwate Galaxy Railway (IGR) in Japan. The design is derived from the 209 series commuter EMU.[2]
Variants
701-0 series
2- and 3-car sets introduced in 1993 and based at Akita Depot. Three 2-car sets (N36 to N38) have been modified with some transverse seating.[3]
701-100 series
701-1000 series
Passenger trains and Sendai area of Morioka City 715 for the replacement system 1994 is the year the vehicle was manufactured. クモハ701形 + クハ700形の2両編成が38本(76両)とクモハ701形 + サハ700形 + モハ701形 + クハ700形の4両編成が4本(16両)の計92両が在籍する。 Kuha Kumoha 700 + 701 form the two forms of this 38-car train (76 cars) Kumoha 701 and 700 form + Saha + Moha Kuha 700 + 701 form the four forms of four-car train (16 cars) both have a total of 92 enrolled.
