Yeah, its really incredible how fast the company have evolved and that they already manage to produce own cars in house that actually look quite good. As an european I am a bit worried about the future.

Fair use rationale for Image:Geely logo.gif

Image:Geely logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 10:07, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Geely operates two automobile companies

Geely operates two automobile companies in China:

  • Zhejiang Geely Automobile
  • Shanghai Maple Guorun Automobile

SMA (Shanghai Maple) is a subsidiary of Geely. I think the "Zhejiang Geely Automobile" is Geely itself. --Love Krittaya (talk) 13:35, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Geely GE Prototype

The GE stands for Geely Excellence. The Geely GE was launched at the Shanghai Motor show in April 2009 where it was immediately branded a "Phantom knock-off".

The 5.4 metre prototype, painted black and given pride of place on a raised plinth in the middle of Geely's stand is undeniably based on the shape of the Rolls in the shape of its cabin, windows and down-sloping rear deck.

Although Geely claims to be 're-inventing the classic' Rolls-Royce bosses considering their options and have consulted lawyers and say the company is keeping its options open. Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is very protective of its brand image and takes seriously any attempt to imitate it's products.

The grille, the Flying Lady mascot, also known as the Spirit of Ecstasy, and the Rolls-Royce name and initials are specifically protected.

The car comes with an air purifier with separate air conditioning, described as an 'oxygen bar', cigar storage, a refrigerator and a 'starlight' interior roof lining which was a feature of the original Phantom.

The original Rolls-Royce Phantom has a price tag of £250,000 while the Geely GE expects a price of just £30,000. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.211.49.2 (talk) 05:22, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
