Tell Me

Someone should really write an article on the song, particularly due to the dance phenomenon. --Dhartung | Talk 09:05, 1 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How about how this song spread like wildfire throughout celebrities. Within months of being released, Yurisangja went on Yoon Hyun Do's Love Letter and performed this song (along with Lies by Big Bang and Love Sick by FT Island in an acoustic remix). Will post the video link to back this later Xatticus 09:00, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Inconsistent spelling of members' name

  1. When Wonder Girls were promoting "Irony", JYPE used 'Sun Ye', 'Ye Eun', 'Hyun A', 'So Hee', 'Sun Mi'.
  2. But when "Tell Me", They used 'Sunye', 'Yeeun', 'Yubin', 'Sohee', 'Sunmi'.
  3. Again, when "So Hot", They used 'Sunye', 'Yea-un', 'Yubin', 'Sohee', 'Sunmi'.
  4. If using Revised Romanization of Korean, They are 'Seonye', 'Ye-eun', 'Yubin', 'Sohui', 'Seonmi'.

Which one should we use? I prefer not to use no.1 because these names are not the 'first name' and 'last name'. --KSiOM(Talk) 10:44, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In a new album, The Wonder Years - Trilogy, spelling is mixed.
  • Under Wikipedia guidelines, we're supposed to use surnames (Min, Ahn, Kim...I don't know Ye-eun's or Sunmi's). But when the full name has to be used, it's either revised romanization or whatever the popular way is. Like, if they consistently used "So Hee" and "Sun Ye", then we should go with that. But since it seems to change fairly frequently...don't know. :P SKS2K6 (talk) 16:16, 18 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Since they use their first names as stage names, I think we should use stage names rather than surnames. (Of course, we did't reach a consensus on which stage name we use) To add to this, Sunmi's surname is Sun, first name is Mi, but she use 'Sunmi' as her stage name. --KSiOM(Talk) 05:43, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Blood type

An edit was reverted with the comment i'm sorry, but much of this is trivial (blood type/height)..... I'm not opposed to the reversion of that edit, because a lot of it was trivial, but vital stats like height and blood type aren't out of line. Blood type would be weird in many articles, but because there is a belief in many Asian cultures that personality depends on blood type, see Blood types in Japanese culture, that's not out of line here. No, I don't buy it, it's on par with beliefs in astrology, but many do, and you'll find many sites that discuss Asian stars including the blood type. TJRC (talk) 19:25, 30 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but not in Wikipedia. Height can change (to a degree, but I mean this in terms of shoes :P). Weight can change. Beliefs can change. Nicknames can change. And none of the information is sourced. I really feel that for English Wikipedia, this sort of information adds no value to the article. Besides, it's just a list of miscellaneous facts, which should be avoided. Very few people will understand the value of blood type when coming across this article. If there's a source tying the blood type to the personalities of all these girls, then by all means, include it. But simply adding these minute details to the page just because it's done elsewhere isn't enough of a reason to keep it in. It belongs on Wonder Girls/K-pop fansites, for sure. But not on a Wikipedia entry. SKS2K6 (talk) 15:05, 7 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yoo/Yu for member 유빈?

The article have 2 spelling of member 유빈 in the roma letter. I guess we must to spell one way only. Is it Yubin or Yoobin?

Nxo (talk) 12:32, 1 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

As mentioned above, there's no official spelling of members' name. In case of Yubin, however, using 'Yubin' is more reasonable. 'Yubin' is consistently used on album cover (except for 'Yu-bin' on The Wonder Years - Trilogy) or official website. --KSiOM(Talk) 19:30, 2 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Okay. I make every Yoobin into Yubin. Nxo (talk) 16:01, 3 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

regarding to their english name and bio

Could you please change their English name to

Sun, Yenny, Mimi, Sohee and Yubin

They are starting their new career in the US so I would like people to see their English name, too.

Also I would like to change their introduction which is on their official US website, wondergirlsworld.com

As the leading creator of Asia's biggest superstars, JYP Entertainment brings you their next biggest phenomenon, Wonder Girls. The Wonder Girls, five teenage sensations hailing from the East as music royalty, were brought together by J.Y. Park after his tremendous success with the superstar Rain.

The Wonder Girls have earned three number 1 hit songs in Asia within the last two years, each having won an unprecedented amount of awards and digital downloads. This summer JYP Entertainment presents the Wonder Girls’ highly anticipated US debut, with their first US single, "Nobody."

The US audience got a sneak preview of Wonder Girls in 2008 when the entertainment blogger Perez Hilton featured not one, but two of their hit music videos on his blog site. Since then, Wonder Girls have been named by People Magazine as one of the "leading Asian pop stars to cross over to the states.” They were also featured on Virgin Media as one of the “Top 8 Girls Groups to Watch in the World,” among such groups as Pussycat Dolls, Girls Aloud and Danity Kane.

In March 2009, Wonder Girls began their first ever World Tour, which incorporated 3 US cities, including New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles. The Wonder Girls will continue to rock the US this summer, with thirteen performances from coast to coast on the Jonas Brothers World Tour. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Janeyjk (talkcontribs) 15:16, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In terms of names, I suppose that's doable, but in terms of intro, that's a clear WP:COPYVIO which is not allowed on Wikipedia. SKS (talk) 17:16, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

official website

can you change to wondergirlsworld.com please so fans who can't read Korean can access the official US website? www.wondergirlsworld.com please 69.33.140.98 (talk) 18:20, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Done The site was already listed at the bottom, but I added it to the infobox. Cheers. SKS (talk) 18:36, 12 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit Request

{{editsemiprotected}}

1) please look into the profile of YUBIN, "Has voice problems so she can't sing properly."

this isnt correct isit? there isnt anything wrong with her voice. and this claim has not been backed up with any source?

2) please look into profile of sunmi, "She is so skinny that people, including fans, are wondering if she's anorexic."

this is a baseless claim, please delete this. thanks!

3) sohee, "she is mentally retarded" this is a clear case of deflamation. pls delete this sentence immediately—Preceding unsigned comment added by Kyiwei (talkcontribs) 15:12, 23 August 2009

Already done Welcome and thanks for pointing out this vandalism. Another editor had already removed those childish edits, perhaps also alerted by your prompt comments here. I left a warning on the vandal's page. He had already been (informally) warned about an edit not backed by sources, so the next time he does this he should be blockable. Thanks again for catching this so quickly, Celestra (talk) 15:55, 23 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{editsemiprotected}}

The second sentence of the article seems to contain some vandalism. the word "cum" has been added in the place of what i assume should be the word "and". Either that or the latin word "cum" is being used, which seems pointless.

Their producer cum manager is singer-songwriter Park Jin-Young and the Wonder Girls are signed to his talent agency, JYP Entertainment.

Done Have changed to "producer and manager". It seems to have been a valid use of the Latin word, rather than vandalism, but using the word 'and' is perhaps clearer. AJCham 12:18, 26 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

{{editsemiprotected}} In the box at the top of the page, where it lists all the members, it says that Sunmi is a former member...it is false information because she has not yet left the group, and Lim has not become an official member yet. Someone please change this...at least for the time being.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Neha200 (talkcontribs)

Do you have any sources for this by any chance? Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 01:52, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It's quite the opposite. The page has come to much dispute due to this event- News link. She hasn't left the group as yet, however she has officially quit. Fans have been editing the infobox as regards to their opinion whether 'Sunmi' has left or not. + ThermoNuclear 12:39, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Not done for now: please establish a consensus for this alteration before using the {{Edit semi-protected}} template. Brian Jason Drake 13:27, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting members' bio

If no one rejects, I am going to because there are no refs in it, and it's unnecessary anyway.Cherrieslovable (talk) 23:58, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

^Actually, I was looking for members' bio but couldn't find it anywhere. Even though the bios don't have refs, a lot of other bios/profiles doesn't have refs and it's okay. Most people who access the WG page came here for their profile so I think it's important that we leave in the information about their name, date of birth, and a mini-bio. Tour

It should be noted on the page that they have canceled their US tour 69.226.103.54 (talk) 13:58, 6 February 2010 (UTC)  Done thanks for pointing that out.  :) SKS (talk) 18:59, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Former Members

Since Sunmi and JYPE has yet to announce Sunmi's official departure from the group is it really proper to add her as a former member? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.209.239.91 (talk) 12:48, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wonder Girls Plan in Korea and USA 2010

AllKpop states that Wonder Girls have plans to start a album in both USA and South Korea. Allkpop also stated that they will have a comeback in ROK.

Notes: I couldn't edit "Wonder Girls" wiki so I want to add my part of what I have researched around the Internet. Johnny Nguyen (talkcontribs) - 09:03, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

New users aren't allowed to edit the page for the time being due to vandalism. Aftre you make a few more edits you should be able to edit the page. Now onto the content. Allkpop isn't a reliable source, so if you find a different source then it will be added in the article. MS (Talk|Contributions) 02:13, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

More Photos and a Promotion section?

We kinda need some more photos of the girls with Lim since she is now a Wonder Girl.. so if anyone has any please load them :)

Also I was thinking maybe adding a section which could list what the girls promote etc. And make references to the Justice Stores —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ondele (talkcontribs) 17:27, 21 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
