Institute of Management Technology (IMT)is one of the Top 10 B schools in India.[1][2]

History

IMT was established in 1980 by eminent industrialist Shri Mahendra Nath with Dr. C. B. Gupta.

PGDM is the oldest programme. IMT also caters to the needs of business executives through its three-year part-time postgraduate programme (PGDM P/T). Corporate participants can enroll in the Management Development Programme (MDP) to enhance their business skills and learn managerial decision making. IMT's Fellow Program in Management (FPM) programme provides doctoral-level education in business management and related disciplines.

To cater to the needs of international business managers, IMT has a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management - International Business (PGDM-IB) programme.

Distance learning (DLP) and E-learning programmes of IMT are designed for students who are unable to take up a full- or part-time MBA courses.

IMT also undertakes national and international projects that cater to governments, corporations and other organizations.

While the Ghaziabad Campus offers all the courses, the Nagpur and Dubai campuses offer a selection of the above courses.[3]

Accreditation

IMT's educational programmes have been recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India

Admissions

Prospective students are required to qualify by taking the CAT and, after that, a group discussion and an interview.

Faculty

IMT currently has around 50 core faculty. There is a strong feedback system where students give feedback for the faculty, two times per term. The faculty is removed from the institute after bad feedback on very short notice.

Apart from permanent faculty, IMT has visiting faculty from industry and other academic institutions. Around 35 visiting faculty are associated with IMT.

Campuses

IMT has three campuses: The first one is in Ghaziabad (established in 1980); the second campus is in Nagpur (established in 2004); and a third campus in Dubai (established in 2006).

IMT Nagpur has been conceptualized as a centre for corporate excellence. The IMT Dubai campus is primarily for international education.

Ghaziabad Campus

The Ghaziabad campus is a 14.7 acre fully residential campus and is the primary campus of IMT. It was established in 1980. It presently offers PGDBM and PGDCA courses through its state-of-the-art education facilities. All the students are housed in 10 hostels.

This campus has many "Centres of Excellence" like the Centre for Global Supply Chain Management.

The Ghaziabad campus infrastructure consists of academic blocks; student hostels; combined mess, canteens and Nescafe stall; amphitheatrel; MDP block and guest house; car and bike parking; lush green field and well-equipped library. A football field, a badminton and tennis court, a floodlit volleyball court, a floodlit basketball court, a floodlit tennis court, jogging tracks and a multipurpose gymnasium are some of the key recreational features of the campus.

This being the primary campus, it offers all the programmes of IMT.

Nagpur Campus

The Nagpur campus spans an area of 25 acres, has a completely Wi-Fi campus with state of the art facilities, and offers PGDBM in various disciplines (Marketing/Finance/HR/IT/Operations, etc.). It has a lush green environment and is equipped with modern infrastructure and a well-equipped hostel.

The first batch of students graduated in 2006 and were well placed in premier companies.

Dubai Campus

The newly established center is situated in the Academic City, Dubai. It has a modern campus built up with all world-class amenities. The institute offers hostel and transport facilities.

The lush green 17-acre (69,000 m2) Wi-fi campus is designed to conform to world standards. The campus provides modern infrastructure with state-of-the-art technology.

Presently three courses are being offered from this campus:

  • MBA (Full Time)
  • Executive MBA (Full Time)
  • Executive MBA (Part Time)

It was granted accreditation by the Commission for Academic Accreditation, Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE in September 2007. It is the only Business School of Indian origin to be so accredited.

The part-time MBA course is conducted in the evenings for 18 months.

Admission is based on GMAT/CAT scores or a test conducted by IMT and a group discussion, interview and academic records, he said.

The first batch commenced from September 2006.

Hyderabad Campus

The newly established center is situated in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh. It has a modern campus built up with all world-class amenities. The institute offers hostel and transport facilities. The campus was established in 2011.

The lush green 17-acre (69,000 m2) Wi-fi campus is designed to conform to world standards. The campus provides modern infrastructure with state-of-the-art technology.

Events

The constant interaction with the corporate sector is done through:

  • Shrinkhla, a series of seminars on various important issues facing the industry
  • Synergies, a series of round table conferences of industry heads
  • Compass, an annual consultancy symposium
  • Conquest, a series of live short-term projects in the area of HR

Placements are usually conducted on the first Sunday of January. Over the years, IMT, Ghaziabad has always maintained an impeccable 100% placement record.

Rating

IMT Ghaziabad has consistently been ranked among the top 10 business schools in India.[5][6][7][8] IMT Ghaziabad has been ranked as the third best private B-school in India according to the Mint's Best B-schools Survey 2008.[9] IMT Ghaziabad belongs to the Super League, i.e., in the Top 7 category of the top business schools in India as surveyed by AIMA - IMRB Survey (All India Management Association).[10]
