CHANGE DP

Copied

I think a section needs to be added on his plagurised films. Hes had a few films which have been taken from Hollywood and i think these need to be mentioned in the article. In particular Lagaan as he was responsible for the script.

Reema kagati's untitled project

The Reema kagati's untitled project has already been officially named as 'The Act of Murder' and the Wikipedia page also redirects to a page of same name.--|BINEET| 06:58, 30 June 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bineetojha (talkcontribs) 06:47, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Updated sections Actor and Producer

Guys, I have updated section 'Actor' and 'Producer' with his latest releases since it was not updated from long. Please feel free to correct or update any sort of mistakes but do not completely remove the information updated.--110.76.160.100 (talk) 06:29, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Information added to articles needs to include reliable sources for verification. None of your edits included sources. You also included a number of peacock terms (e.g. "critical acclaim", "huge success") and commentary ("eventually being declared a super-hit due to the massive youth content and connect") which is not neutral and is also lacking sources. --Jezebel'sPonyobons mots 16:48, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Child's Name

Can someone explain me why Aamir Khan's child name should not be added in his infobox? Thanks.Abdul raja (talk) 12:37, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please read Template:Infobox actor for children as a parameter. It says "list of names if notable". Surrogacy does not make child notable even though born to a famous personality. Thanks. - VivvtTalk 13:44, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But number can be specified; even of non-notable children. -Animeshkulkarni (talk) 14:00, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes. Thanks. - VivvtTalk 15:03, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply guys.I got it now.Abdul raja (talk) 16:25, 13 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

New Section - Untrodden Paths

I am planning to start a new section, which is going to have some facts related to untrodden paths taken by Aamir khan. Definitely he is much more than a star/actor/professional. Take for example this story Aamir Khan attends rickshaw driver's son's wedding which we can't or see rarely with other actors and high profile people. His ideology and take towards India in Aamir Khan urges government to focus on education, nutrition in Union Budget 2012. His topics of focus in coming show Satyamev Jayate (TV show). His role in copyright panel and controversies related. Their are many more, which clearly shows him out of stereotype actor. But I don't know any article which is having/ not having such sections, probably due to absence of such activities in their life. Also I don't have any idea regarding Wikipedia policy regarding this(in my view there would not be any violation). Please do express your views regading the same. JPMEENA (talk) 18:20, 28 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I fell better name the section "Social Activities" or something like that. So many social issues involved Khan are there worth mentioning. Like his support in Jan Lokpal Bill Movement and Narmada Bachao Andolan, His views on Child labour, Girl's Education in india, Environmental issues, and so on. Here. Is some sources and details: Fanaa_(film)#Controversy, Aamir Khan lends his support for the Narmada Bachao Andolan, Aamir on Narmada: I won't apologise,Everyone lobbies for bills, what is wrong if people put pressure? Aamir Khan questions. I think we should also add something about his efforts on marketing his movies. Especially about 3 idiots. here is a source:Why Aamir Khan is a marketing genius @ forbes rahul (talk2me) 04:20, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
ok, I got you. There are many such stories which have never been found in sphere of life of others. Still the question of importance of section and its feasibility under Wiki guidelines remains open. Discussion is open!! JPMEENA (talk) 05:10, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Its common to have such section in bio articles. For example: Preity_Zinta#Humanitarian work Angelina Jolie#Humanitarian work Brad_Pitt#Humanitarian and political causes These are some featured articles. In the case of notability, personaly i dont feel the wedding incident is notable enough. Other incidents which got national/international media coverage is definitly notable. As per WP:BLP the section must be neutral and verifiable. Just try to convey facts. I hope that will be enough to go with WP guidelines. And it will be good to know if any other editors are interested on this.. rahul (talk2me) 10:01, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you rahul, for you research/ help. Then I am set to start this section.JPMEENA (talk) 17:15, 29 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Restructuring

As a member of Indian cinema task force i have signed up for, contributing to this article Here. I will try my level best, to make this article a FA candidate. So first things first, I propose a restructuring of the article into the following structure:

I am open to suggestions and ideas, i think it will be better if we develop some sort of consensus on this matter, as i will start working on this article after 3-4 weeks. Bineet Ojha |BINEET| 16:40, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would say that its a great thought and initiative by you and would suggest that go ahead and get started on the article. Don't bother too much about the headings and layout and first start collecting as much information you can. Categorize the URL's collected and post them all in the talk page for others to refer. I'm sure others will surely join in. Best of luck !!! ...Msrag talk2me 05:09, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • its a great idea. I can see that you have taken cue from some of the other better rated articles. Rajnikanth and kamal hassan, both GA status have a similar structure. That's the way to go. Take a cue from better written articles and strive for perfection. Mr. Perfectionist deserves a perfect wiki article. I'm with you. The only thing. Try not to perform wholesome edits in the article itself. Use your sandbox. Develop the article section by section. When a section is ready, paste it in the article after having a consensus over the particular section. For example, first write early life, when a consensus is reached that the section is good enough, paste it in the article and then start working on 'debut and child actor' section in the sandbox. Post the sandbox link here so that everybody can work on it. A lead is the summary of the whole article giving a brief review of what to expect below. So it is always better and easier to write the lead in the last. Skagrawal4k (talk) 18:06, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Rang de Basanti is not the highest grossing Indian film of 2006 !!!

According to my check of boxofficeindia.com, Aamir khan's movie is ranked eighth (8th) and is categorized as a "hit", whereas Shahrukh's movie Don fared better and was ranked fifth (5th). Infact the top grosser was the blockbuster movie Dhoom2 for the year 2006 that raked in 80,25,00,000 Indian rupees!

Correct me if I'm wrong.

The text says "one of" the highest grossing.. which is true, no? BollyJeff | talk 16:01, 1 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
