Requests for registration
Please read the guide on the main page before requesting permission. In applying for AWB access, you indicate that you will abide by its terms.
Also, this page is for requesting AWB Access for this wiki (English Wikipedia) only. Other projects have their own check pages and you should ask administrators there to add you.
Please add your name to the bottom of the list using *
. Enter your user name exactly as it is, do not add underscores instead of spaces or change the case of the first letter.
{{AWBUser|your username}}
~~~~~
If the list contains undecided entries that are over 48 hours old, please add
to the top of this page.
{{Admin backlog}}
Note that users with under 500 mainspace non-automated edits are rarely approved. You only need to give a reason for wanting AWB access if you have fewer than 500 mainspace non-automated edits. Administrators are automatically approved and do not need to list themselves.
If approved, your name will be added to the CheckPage. If you will make many or fast automated edits using AWB, you may wish to use a separate (or bot) account for the purpose.
- The last 1000 edits are almost all reverts, so I cannot tell how you would use AWB. What do you plan to use it for? Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:14, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Most of those are from recent changes patrolling. But I also fix grammar errors and awkward sentences manually whenever I see them. AWB would make that task a lot easier. Widr (talk) 10:33, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Torreslfchero (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) I want to do constructive edits rather reverting using rollback and STiki and also want to look deeper into India related articles for grammatical erros .Torreslfchero (talk) 07:19, 2 November 2012 (UTC)
- Mrt3366 (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) I'd appreciate it highly if I got the permission. 09:39, 10 November 2012 (UTC)
- Actually actually, I have removed the access given the user's claims that his edits thru automated means are not his responsability. Snowolf How can I help? 12:39, 11 November 2012 (UTC)
- This is not particularly true. I never claimed anything like I don't take responsibility for automated tools. check my talk for a detailed explanation. Mr T(Talk?) (New thread?) 14:04, 11 November 2012 (UTC
- Clarification: I do solemnly swear to take full responsibility for the tool. And the thing is, I never said or meant that I do not take responsibility. I in fact do take responsibility for anything that comes with the tool, but if someone asks me to change/modify the tool itself, then that I cannot do as I don't know how. Modifying the tool itself is just not within the purview of my knowledge. There has been an unfortunate misunderstanding. Please restore the access and also I didn't abuse the tool and I never used it even, didn't know that I had access to it. Let's not stretch it too far. Mr T(Talk?) - Already done confirmed by KingpinBot (talk · contribs) (this user currently has the awb flag. Admins: remember to use a {{done}} template or alternative so the bot knows what the intended result is) - KingpinBot (talk) 13:00, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- Lugia2453 (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) While most of my edits are reverts, I also patrol recently created pages and look for ones that could use some fixes, whether they're grammatical fixes or capitalization fixes. Generally, I'll fix even the tiniest of errors. This isn't the best way of looking for pages that could use some fixes, though; I think AWB would help with finding more pages that could use fixes. In addition, looking for errors is tedious, so AWB would also help me with that. 04:36, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Done Although I wasnt aware that AWB access automatically enabled you to use Kissle I dont see any reason why not to allow the request. ☮Soap☮ 18:34, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Illia Connell (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) Help my work cleaning up Category:Articles with missing Cite arXiv inputs, Category:Pages with DOI errors, Category:Articles citing non-functional DOIs, Category:Pages with incomplete DOI references, Category:Pages with DEFAULTSORT conflicts, Category:Proposed deletions needing attention, and Category:Infobox person using a missing image 21:53, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
- Fyrael (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) I frequently do work related to disambiguation pages and I'd like to use the tool to make parts of the process go a little more quickly.17:43, 13 November 2012 (UTC)
- Niado (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) I would like to use AWB for fixing typos and grammatical/spelling errors, thanks! 18:39, 16 November 2012 (UTC)
- Not done Although you have been a registered user since 2009 I see a major gap between 2009 and 2012. Although you have begun to make more edits in the last month it would be better to continue as is and re-request later. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 22:49, 28 November 2012 (UTC)
- FT2 (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) Useful for some kinds of maintenance across multiple pages. - AussieLegend2 (talk • contribs • non-automated contribs • wikichecker • count • total • logs • page moves • block log • email) AussieLegend2 is my alternate account.
