Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University is a Ukrainian university in Mykolaiv.

History

January 17, 1996 Mykolaiv branch of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” was founded according to the decision of NUKMA and certified by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine (July 3, 1996).

March 13, 2002 Petro Mohyla Mykolaiv State Humanitarian University was founded on the basis of Mykolaiv branch of National University “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” according to the Order №112-р of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

December 10, 2008 Petro Mohyla Mykolaiv State Humanitarian University was reorganized into Petro Mohyla Black Sea State University according to the Order №1521-р of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine.

Campuses and buildings

11 educational buildings, library with 150 thousands of books (including literature on 15 foreign languages), 3 reading halls for 350 people, information-computer centre with Internet, publishing centre, students’ hall, cultural centre, swimming and racing station, 2 gyms, 4 training centres, art gallery, 3 hostels, canteen and 4 cafes.

Institutes and faculties

There are 6 faculties and 4 institutes: Computer Studies Faculty, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Political Studies, Faculty of Ecology and Medical Studies, Faculty of Sociology, Institute of Philology, Learning and Scientific Institute of Object and System Engineering, Institute of State Management, In-Service Institute, Tbilisi Institute.
