- I am assisting a friend, George Halley and his biographer, Marie Bardos in providing an entry into the English version of Wikipedia. Mr. Halley is an American couturier and an important contributor to American fashion and design in the mid-20th Century. He and Ms. Bardos have asked me to assist them in this endeavor. I am seeking affirmation from Ms. Bardos as to the copyright status of her brief bio. It may be that she will provide it to Wikipedia without copyright.
I created my account some time ago in anticipation of providing this assistance. Since then I have not done any editing and thus have not triggered the automatic confirmation by making any edits. At this time I do not anticipate performing any other entry work except as may be related to Mr. Halley's entry.
Full disclosure, I did create another account because I forgot the username of the this one and only just now figured out how to find the usernames of each, both of which use the same email address for me. Eric Albert 21:56, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

- I went through the list of pages needing references fixing and every time I tried to fix one I had to put in a CAPTCHA, which is getting annoying. When I asked at the help desk (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Help_desk#CAPTCHA) they said I would either have to wait 4 days or put in a request here - so here I am... (I even had to put in a CAPTCHA to do this request!!!!) Flying Buttress (talk) 09:19, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- Not done A lot of your actions are "hiding unused references" - what's that? All those references were in use, from a cursory glance, and will need to be re-added. Wikipedia articles need more sources to make this project more reliable, not fewer. Many of your other actions are, indeed, valid and helpful - but right now it's best if you spend at least a couple of more days reviewing the help menu and all other linked policies that were provided to you on your talkpage. Good luck as you move forward! (✉→BWilkins←✎) 10:10, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- John of Reading recommended that I look at the incorrect ref formatting, which is what I did. Those refs were throwing up errors because they were included in a list, but didn't get used in the article. I didn't remove them, just added "html" hiding tags, which I'd seen before (and since - Lac-Mégantic derailment had unused references hidden in the same style before I got there - It was done yesterday.. http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lac-M%C3%A9gantic_derailment&diff=563622322&oldid=563621472) It's due to the "list style references" being put in, someone removed the reference from the article - probably for a good reason, but didn't remove it from the list, which is at a different place. I'm sure I did the right thing, valid and helpful as you say... Though I must ask, why is that relevant to the request? Flying Buttress (talk) 10:54, 11 July 2013 (UTC)
- You don't hide them, you fix them. For example, if it's the first time Dundas has been used as a ref, you need to define it - do not hide them. Yes, I know what HTML tags do, and where and why to do it ... the situations where you used it are not appropriate, and it shows that you're not quite ready for autoconfirmed. I do appreciate the cleanup you're trying to do, but we fix rather than remove wherever possible. Please note: this board is not for discussion of the decision (✉→BWilkins←✎) 13:50, 11 July 2013 (UTC)

I work really hard on my edits and I would like them to be copyrighted and not freely used. The reason being is when I make a map/drawing of an old nation or empire, I draw the borders myself and list the names of the cities as well as color the map itself. So with that being said, I need protection from anyone who wants to freely use my work. I would like people to only request my permission to edit or remove my work from an article like how a lot of people have to do with other users on Wikipedia. Please approve my request!
- Not done The confirmed permission does not grant the ability you desire, and what you are asking for is totally incompatible with how Wikipedia works. - I am currently a member of this temple building and would like to add some historic and internal photos. I have recently updated the article and adding these historic photos as well as photos of the interior will add great content to this article about a historic building in Great Falls, Montana. I do not currently have permission to do this because I have not edited 10 articles, nor do I plan to. I only updated the information about our building. - Hi, I am the author of a new book and have others I am working on. I would like to add a cover image to the page. I am the copyright holder. PRADIGen (talk) 16:15, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
- Not done First, you will need to read WP:COI and WP:PROMO ... as well as the general notability guidelines. In short, yuor book is not notable enough for an encyclopedia yet, and you should never be the one to write an article about it, nor should you ask someone else to write it for you. Second, we only add images to existing articles - since the article does not exist, there's no need for an image. Third, you'll need to review the Image use policy to understand the rights you're granting to Wikipedia, and act accordingly. Finally, as per the top of the page, if your sole goal is to upload an image, there is a more-recommended process (✉→BWilkins←✎) 16:27, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

- Not done - Hi, and thank you for creating an account to edit Wikipedia. Although I fully understand your desire to dive right in, many of our articles are semi-protected because they are controversial, prone to vandalism, or other reasons. As a new editor with few edits, it might be wise to discuss your edits on the article talkpage in order to gain consensus for your edits, and then use {{Edit semi-protected}} to request the edit be performed. I only recommend this until you're used to the challenges of reliable sources, the biographies of living persons policy, and other similar policies. The good news is that fewer than 5% of Wikipedia articles are protected; this means that 95% of the articles can use your help right now! GB fan 23:24, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Starring Barry Williams (www.70sMusicclebration.com) for verification purposes. I am trying to upload files, but you are blocking them as copyrighted. I am the Director of Marketing/representative for this show and Barry Williams which is evidenced by the Press releases that have been posted on the PR page in a PDF on the 70s Music Celebration! page. Also, if you look, you will see that same photo is used on his 70s Music Celebration Facebook page. Its the branding we are using for him moving forward: <spam link redacted>
Currently Barry Williams and I are in process of updating his wiki page with new and updated photos and information. Please see the edit that I made on his wiki page: Currently Williams is starring in his own Branson, Missouri show, 70s Music Celebration! where you can relive the ‘70s through music and Barry’s personal experiences as he takes you on an exciting trip through the grooviest decade with Branson’s best singers and dancers along with the hippest live band Tuesday, Thursdays and Saturdays at 2 pm at RFD-TV, The Theatre, Branson, Missouri.
I will also be creating a Wiki page for this show. Can I please get my account confirmed? And can you please remove the copyright on his photo that you deleted so that I can reupload it without you thinking that I am a repeat offender? The last thing I want is for you to think that I am a trouble maker.
I am new to wiki as far as editing, so I am in learning stages.
