Old discussions are moved to User talk:Crazytales/Archive9 sporadically. I'll respond here to comments left here, to avoid fragmenting discussions, but I usually remember to place {{Talkback}} at your talk page. I also might edit/combine/split headings for purposes of readability or organisation.

Calling Lake[edit]

Hi Crazytales, can you elaborate on how MoS prevents this move? Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 07:08, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Per WP:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages, if there's a primary topic associated with a page title, then the article for the primary topic should be at "Page title", and the disambiguation at "Page title (disambiguation)". I think the primary topic for Calling Lake would be the lake itself. Again per MoS, the town would be at Calling Lake, Alberta, the airport at Calling Lake Airport, etc. I don't think the Calling Lake (Alberta) title makes a whole lot of sense because there aren't any other Calling Lakes (the lakes themselves) that have a Wikipedia article. ~Alison C. Thanks for elaborating. The reason I requested the db-move was that I wasn't convinced either the lake or the community was the primary topic. I'll consider a formal RM. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 05:25, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Just reviewed article traffic stats. Calling Lake was viewed 391 times in the past 90 days, while Calling Lake, Alberta was viewed 1,555 times. Would this be sufficient grounds to re-request a db-move? BTW, no need to TB on my talk page. I'll keep an eye out for your reply. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 05:56, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure. I'd say yes to the db-move if the difference was like an order of magnitude, but here it's only about a factor of 4. I would still suggest opening a formal RM. ~Alison C. (Crazytales) (talkedits) 14:20, 12 June 2014 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks for the help. Cheers, Hwy43 (talk) 19:19, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi Crazytales, would you object to me giving Alexwhite116 (talk · contribs) a second chance, and unblocking him? PhilKnight (talk) 10:27, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

i have no objections to this. :) ~Alison C. (Crazytales) (talkedits) 12:06, 7 October 2014 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for November 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Powers Catholic High School, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Charger. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Discussion involving transgender issues[edit]

You may want to be aware of and possibly join in: Wikipedia:Village pump (policy)/Archive 121#MOS:IDENTITY clarification. Skyerise (talk) 06:17, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

Oh gods, more Caitlyn Jenner stuff. As if it weren't enough that I am going to participate in an Ask a Trans Person Day event at my uni on monday.... (Note: This is just my overwhelmedness at trans issues being in the media so much now, not directed at you. Thanks for bringing this rfc to my attentions. :) ) --Alison (Crazytales) (talkedits) 14:01, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, no way we need to retrograde MOS:IDENTITY! Skyerise (talk) 14:05, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
