Really?

Is there really a need to link this article to southern united states? Then maybe you should do the same with the North America article and maybe even link the Americas article to The USA article. 83.39.80.34 (talk) 17:01, 15 November 2013 (UTC)ggcc[reply]

No map?

Why, oh why, does an encyclopedia article about South Amercia not include a real map or two of South America? Rclocher3 (talk) 04:26, 15 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hatnote

To state the abundantly obvious, this article should have a hatnote to southern United States. Southern America redirects here, and this is not at all an implausible destination for people who are unfamiliar with the geography of the Americas. Imagine explaining the difference between "South America" and the "American South" to someone who speaks English as a second language. I find User:Dentren's edit summary both disingenuous and inaccurate... if someone would like me to dig up examples of the countless hatnotes referring people to things most of us have never even heard of, I'll gladly oblige. — PinkAmpers&(Je vous invite à me parler) 04:10, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sovereign States

Even when you look at the page "List of sovereign states and dependent territories in South America" you can clearly see there are 13 sovereign states, not 12. A basic mistake. I don't know why someone wrote "Do not change this number to 13 without discussing at the talk page"... Anyway, I posted it, now changing it, if you have any problem, please discuss here. Here are the 13 Sovereign States: Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana and Surinam! Amazing Article

I give credit for whoever works hard on making these articles about the world. This article can be used for research projects and for teachers in school teaching about South America. - Ihatewikirules 15:15, 5 April 2014 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ihatewikirules (talkcontribs)
