Sampath Nandi(born 20 June 1980) is an Indian film, director, screenwriter and producer who works primarily in Telugu cinema.
After completing his studies, he assisted Posani Krishna Murali along with director Trivikram Srinivas for three years . In the mean time he used to go to Mumbai and make ad-films also . [1]
Debut And Success(2010-2014)
In 2010 he made his directorial debut with Yemaindi Ee Vela, starring Varun Sandesh and Nisha Aggarwal , which earned him critical and commercial success. The film was made with a budget of 3 crore (US$470,000) and collected 10 crore (US$1.6 million) in a 50-day run at box office and was declared a hit. Kajal Aggarwal's sister Nisha Aggarwal made her debut with this film.
In 2012, His second film was Racha, starring Ram Charan and Tamannaah Bhatia, which was one of the blockbuster films in 2012. The film completed a successful 50-day run in 127 direct centers across Andhra Pradesh, out of which 38 screens were from Ceded region and 16 screens were from Nizam region and was declared a blockbuster.[2] The film completed a 100-day run in 38 centers across Andhra Pradesh on 13 July 2012.[3] The film collected a lifetime share of ₹450 million (US$5.4 million)[4]
In 2014, he became producer to the film Galipatam.[5] and also was named as director for Pawan Kalyan's Gabbar Singh 2, but he opted out of the project due to some unknown reasons.
(2015-present)
In 2015, Currently he is the director for Ravi Teja's upcoming movie Bengal Tiger , which has Tamannaah as lead actress, who also did a female lead in his previous film Racha.[6][7][8]
He said that Ravi Teja plays a powerful role in the film and guarntees that this film is going to be a fun ride with very good entertainment quotient.[9]
This film is scheduled for a worldwide release on 18 September 2015 coinciding with the auspicious festival Ganesh Chaturthi.[10]
