Puffin Rock is an Irish[2] children's television series originally airing on RTÉjr in Ireland, Nick Jr. in the United Kingdom, and Netflix in the United States. The programme is narrated by Chris O'Dowd.[3] The series premiered on 12 January 2015.[4]

Plot

Narrated by Chris O’Dowd, Puffin Rock follows the adventures of a family of puffins who live on a beautiful Irish island. Oona is a smart young puffling, eager to learn and explore. She shares her funny escapades on Puffin Rock, with her sweet little brother, Baba and all their friends.

Characters

  • Oona (voiced by Kate McCafferty[5]) - A female puffling and the protagonist of the series. She is preschool-aged and treats every day as a new opportunity.
  • Baba (voiced by Sally McDaid[6]) - Oona's younger brother. He is easily distracted and can be slightly clumsy at times.
  • Mossy (voiced by Darragh Gargan[7]) - Oona's best friend, a brown pygmy shrew. He lives in a tree stump on the island and is usually focused on food.
  • May (voiced by Anna McDaid[8]) - An energetic rabbit who lives in a burrow on the island. She is very competitive and regularly challenges Oona to races.
  • Silky (voiced by Laura McCallan[9]) - A grey-coloured seal pup who lives in a nearby lagoon. She comes along with Oona and Baba on their underwater adventures.
  • Otto (voiced by Brenn Doherty[10]) - A green owl who normally appears slightly uncoordinated. He is an expert flier and shares flying tips with Oona.

Episodes

The first season began airing on RTE Jr on January 12th 2015. The Second season is still in production.
