Life Simulator vs Instant Messenger

Originally in the body, and currently on the sidebar, Miitomo was said to be a life simulator. I changed this to a messenger client, as that is what all the information I have seen is. Dissident93 reasonably asks what the difference is? Isn't Tomodachi Life a life simulator?

Well, yes, it is. And that's the difference to me. Tomodachi Life is a game where "Miis can then perform various actions, such as eating, trying on different outfits, falling in love with someone, and many leisure activities." That's a life simulator. Miitomo is a messaging app where Mii's prompt you to communicate with your friends. I haven't seen any indication that the Miis live a life. They are simply used as a vehicle to break the ice with your friends. You simply buy things with Platinum points and any free content. The Miis seem to only be used as a way of depicting communication and starting it with a friend's avatar. Rather than the app being about the Miis, the app is about texting.

However, I was hesitant to change the sidebar genre. But ultimately, this app is more iMessage/Hangouts than it is Tomodachi Life. More specifically, it's an icebreaker app. Unless there are features I haven't been made aware of yet. I don't usually edit video game sections. But I think mobile messaging app is a more accurate category.

Except for the fact that you can't convey any direct messages. The Miis are just blurting out random bits of information one of your friends put in. If I wanted to let my friends know that I had pizza for lunch there would be no way to control when, if ever, they would receive that information. "Messenger client" seems to be thre wrong classification for that. 204.124.67.250 (talk) 18:18, 1 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
