The "Kings of Asian Futsal" have won eleven editions of the Asian Futsal Championship[2] and are the 5th strongest team in the world according to the most recent Futsal World Ranking. The Iranians have played in seven editions of the FIFA Futsal World Cup reaching the semi-finals and claiming fourth place in their first appearance in 1992.[3] Iran also won the first Futsal Confederations Cup in 2009, and has reached the finals of the Grand Prix de Futsal, also known as the Futsal Mini-World Cup, in the 2007, 2009, and 2015 editions.

Home stadium

Iran plays the home games at the Azadi Indoor Stadium with a capacity of 12,000 spectators. The government restricts Iranian women from attending football matches such as the ones held in Azadi stadium.
