Prema Powerteam (competing as Prema Racing in GP2 Series) is a motorsport team from Italy. It mainly operates in the European Formula Three Championship as well as various junior championships. The team was founded in 1984. Also this team was a part of Toyota Driver Programme. Currently the team has strong ties with Mercedes and Ferrari, running many of the current Ferrari Driver Academy drivers. Its most recent success is winning the GP2 Drivers' title with Pierre Gasly and Teams' championship.

Drivers who graduated to F1

The following drivers who have competed for any of Prema Powerteam's series teams have successfully graduated to F1:

Robert Kubica
Competed for Prema's Formula 3 Euro team in 2003. He raced with Sauber F1 from 2006 to 2009 and Renault F1 in 2010.
Lucas di Grassi
Competed for Prema's Formula 3 Euro team in 2003. He joined Renault F1 as a test driver from 2008 to 2009 and raced with Virgin Racing in 2010. He currently competes in Formula E with ABT Schaeffler Audi Sport.
Kamui Kobayashi
Competed for Prema's Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 team in 2005. He raced with Toyota Racing in the penultimate round of the 2009 season before racing full-time with Sauber F1 from 2010 to 2012 and Caterham F1 in 2014.
Roberto Merhi
Competed for Prema's Formula 3 Euro team in 2011. He raced with Manor Racing for selected rounds of the 2015 season.
Esteban Ocon
Competed for Prema's European Formula 3 team in 2014. He raced with Manor Racing for the remainder of the 2016 season and will be racingfull-time with Force India in 2017.
Lance Stroll
Competed for Prema's Italian F4 team in 2014 and European Formula 3 team from 2015 to 2016. He will be racing with Williams F1 in the 2017 Formula 1 Season.
