Be a WikiFairy or a WikiGnome
  Help contribute to articles

  Perform maintenance tasks
Become a member of a project that interests you

The best way to learn about something is to experience it. Explore, learn, contribute, and don't forget to have some fun!
To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 07:46, 6 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

VisualEditor

Hey Cmo910 :). Thanks so much for your edit here; unfortunately it looks like you accidentally added nowiki tags. This isn't your fault, it's just that the new editor doesn't directly accept markup (like the link you added) - although we're looking at ways to make it handle people trying to use markup in a better way. In the meantime, the userguide here should help with how to add things like links and references. Thanks, and let me know if you see any other issues or have any comments. Don't forget to sign your posts

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --Jax 0677 (talk) 08:53, 16 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Contests

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:14, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

March 2017

Just to note that you are edit-warring in Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie introducting BLP violations.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:56, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

[1] does not contain a single indication that she is American.--Ymblanter (talk) 14:57, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Cmo910: You need to stop engaging in edit warring. You can get blocked from editing Wikipedia if you continue violating Wikipedia's three-revert rule. I wasn't able to find any source online that corroborates your claim that she is American. The subject herself told The Huffington Post in 2014 that she doesn't have an American passport. She specifically said, “I had many opportunities to get an American passport, but I chose not to because I felt, in a slightly misguided way, that I wanted to somehow be authentically Nigerian". If you object to this, you need to provide a reliable source. Please try to gain consensus on the article's talk page before undoing Ymblanter's revision. @User Talk:Versace1608 in 2014 correct. Read the appropriately titled article http://billmoyers.com/2014/12/16/nigerian-author-chimananda-ngozi-adichie-identity/ , perhaps I'll get direct sources from her to silence this hubbub.
