The Samsung Gear 360[1] is a 360 degree camera produced by Samsung Electronics in the Samsung Gear family of devices. Unveiled during a Samsung Unpacked event at the Mobile World Conference in Barcelona, Spain on February 21, 2016. The Samsung Gear 360 is the first 360° camera from Samsung. Here, Samsung pursued the concept of creating as portable and as simple a device as possible. It uses two cameras to take 360° photos and videos.
History
Release
Samsung officially unveiled the Gear 360 on February 21, 2016, with a release date set for Summer 2016. On April 29, 2016 Samsung began selling the Gear 360 in Korea and Singapore.
Criticism was leveled at the camera because it can only be used with a limited range of Samsung Galaxy models (Samsung Galaxy S6 or later), however, critics have praised the ease-of-use and small form factor.[2]

Software
The dedicated mobile application greatly extends available recording options and add the support for time lapse and looping video. The camera works with all phones that can run the required Samsung Gear 360 Manager app, such as the Samsung Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 Edge, Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge+ and Note 5.[3]
