A tag has been placed on David Hoovler, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles are written objectively and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Information icon Hello, WikipediaWriter2017. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you.Deb (talk) 15:08, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am appealing because my account was wrongfully blocked. I am a new user who desired to create a page about a notable person for which no other page yet existed. I cited more than twenty-credible sources, from reputable third-parties about the person I was writing about. I have no conflicts of interest in writing about this person or in making this encyclopedic contribution. I chose a topic for which a page was not yet created about a notable elected official in the United States. I did not make disruptive edits, when the tag was placed on the page it was still under creation. It was being edited while the tag was in place and it was being contested. I also was not responsible removing tags after I was warned. It appeared there were other people making edits and removing the tags. I also continued to make some changes to language which may have been seen as promotional, and as stated, the page was being redesigned after notice of the flag had been received. The flag for speedy deletion was premature. During the time when the flag was placed, the page had undergone significant changes and was entirely different, the content changed, references changed, and the structure of the page had changed, it should never have been tagged until it was actually reviewed, considering all the recent amendments. I worked very hard in developing that article and it should not have been deleted without being properly reviewed. Things that were seen as promotional are what was reported by third-party news sources. The administrators did not read the contested comments or references, and then took aim at my account to prevent me from making any further contributions that most would find meaningful to this site. I was not removing tags, this was a page under continued development, and therefore, I was not vandalizing a page which I was in the process of editing and creating. Thank you for your consideration WikipediaWriter2017 (talk) 17:22, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

I just reviewed key claims in the now-deleted article and found that despite looking well-referenced, multiple sources did not support the promotional claims they were cited for. So in short, you repeatedly posted a spammy article about a likely non-notable person, removed applicable speedy deletion templates, misrepresented the sources, and flat-out deny there were any problems. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
