Tseung Kwan O
Tseung Kwan O (將軍澳, formerly Junk Bay) is a new town in Hong Kong.
It is located in the Sai Kung district in the eastern part of the New Territories, while sometimes it has been regarded as part of Kowloon due to its close proximity to the city.
History
The New Town was developed in three phases:
- Phase I - Hang Hau, Po Lam, Siu Chik Sha, Tsui Lam
- Phase II - Town Centre North
- Phase III - Pak Shing Kok, Tiu Keng Leng, Tai Chik Sha, Town Centre South
Transportation
Tseung Kwan O is served by the Tseung Kwan O Line of the MTR metro system.
It is also connected by a well covered public bus and minibus network. Several main roads are connected to the city, which include:
- Tseung Kwan O Tunnel (Connected to Kwun Tong)
- Po Lam Road (Connected to Kwun Tong)
- Hang Hau Road and Ying Yip Road (Connected to Sai Kung and Clear Water Bay)
Others
There is an industrial estate in the southeast of the area, which is the seat of MTR depot, future Dream City and TVB.
