  • Comment: Just a few cosmetic edits since the last decline, none of which address the reasons for the previous declines. Do not resubmit this draft without doing so. Ravenswing 19:26, 5 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Comment: There is no indication this man has been widely written about in detail in reliable sources. You have cited numerous sources, but most are popular websites and not journalistic or academic discussions in detail. In my opinion, it's doubtful this man could meet WP:GNG at this time. Please take a look at WP:NPROF and see if there is a route there you could take to show notability. John from Idegon (talk) 20:29, 27 February 2018 (UTC)
  • Comment: A member of an Olympic team meets notability for N:ATHLETE, however, a staff member does not. There is no further demonstration of notability beyond that point. Chetsford (talk) 23:26, 9 January 2018 (UTC)

Jan Lexell, MD, PhD, is a Swedish neurologist and academic, who is a specialist in rehabilitation medicine. He is head of the rehabilitation medicine research group in the Department of Health Sciences at Lund University, Lund.[1][2][3][4][5] One of his research areas is the effect of physical activity on the aging process.[3][6] Lexell is also senior consultant in the Department of Neurology and Rehabilitation Medicine at Skane University Hospital, Lund.[2][7][8][9] Since 1 January 2018, Lexell has been a professor of rehabilitation medicine in the Department of Neuroscience at Uppsala University and Senior consultant at Uppsala University Hospital.[10] Lexell's research is frequently cited;[11][12] in particular, his work during the 1980s on examining the vastus lateralis muscle immediately post-mortem, which helped identify an atrophy in type-2 fiber area in older people, [13] Some of his most important research was carried out in 1989-90, while working at the University of Liverpool, UK, with grants from several major Swedish medical organisations.[14]

Sports medicine

Lexell is actively engaged in sports medicine, in particular paralympic sports medicine. He is the chairperson of the medical committee of Parasport Sweden.[4][15][16][17][18] Lexell is also a standing member of the Medical committee in the International Paralympic Committee (IPC),[5][15][19] and was directly involved in preparing Sweden's paralympic athletes for the 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio.[20] He was a contributor to the Textbook of Sports Medicine: Basic Science and Clinical Aspects of Sports Injury and Physical Activity, published by Wiley in 2003, revised 2008.[21]
